Ice Age

...

Chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp

The sounds of birds filled his ears as the mammoth groggily peaked one eye open, the other quickly following.

A groan escaped the large creature as the bright rays of sunlight entered his irises. Shaking his head, Manny carefully shifted his lower back into an arch. The mammal let out a loud yawn, his breath visible in the freezing temperature.

A new day as dawned. The sun had arisen to the sky, lighting up the new day with its warm rays of light. However, even with it's warmth, a cool breeze seemed to be drifting through the open air.

The mammoth shivered as he shifted his head to the side, his gaze trained on the space beside him, watching as his unconscious human companion's chest rose and fell in rhythm.

After a few seconds, he shifted his head again, his gaze narrowing in suspicion as he glanced at the snoring saber a few feet away.

Feeling a sense of apprehension, Manny hurriedly glanced down before letting out a gasp as he gazed at his trunk in alarm and fear.

The baby was gone.

Panicked, the mammoth sat up in hurry, his grogginess long gone, "(Y/N)!"

Quickly the girl sat up, her hands traveling up to her eyes and rubbing the tiredness away, "What's happening? What's wrong?" she questioned with a yawn, her raspy voice laced with sleep.

"The baby's gone!"

"What!" (Y/N) frantically hurried to her feet, her legs shaking as she sluggishly made her way to Manny.

"What do you mean 'the baby is gone!' Where is he?!"

"I don't know! That's why I asked you!" The mammoth pointed his trunk in the direction of the human to further indicate his point.

"Well, I don't know where he is! Maybe he went-" The girl was interrupted as a snore tore through the conversation. With arched brows, the two friends swiftly glanced at each other before snapping their heads in the direction of the unconscious tiger a short distance away.

The mammals shared a glance once more before marching their way over to the sleeping cat.

Sensing the vibrations from under him, the saber sluggishly blinked an eye open only to let out a startled yelp. The tiger quickly gathered himself, balancing himself on all fours once his emerald eyes caught the smothering glare the two friends were sending him.

"Where's the baby?"

Diego's eyes widened, "You lost it?"

(Y/N) narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms over her brown skinned coat, "No, someone took him."

"It wasn't me"

"Really? how do we know-"

(Y/N) and Diego stopped their bricking once realization began to sink in.

"SID!!!"

...

"Ooh, it's so ugly, it's positively adorable."

In a steaming mudpot quite a distance away, two female sloths were sat at the sides of Sid, cooing and coddling something in males arms.

"Hello, little baldy bean."
