I texted Dana back saying I felt sick and needed to come home as soon as possible. She said it's ok. After all she did mention I don't need to drop by or she may just be saying jt for Sheena's sake? I still can't forget about Sheena. I cannot believe I got myself a girlfriend that quick.
---------------------------------I woke up the next morning with a back pain. Probably from the acrobatics we did in her bathroom. I got ready, showered fast and put on striped yellow and white collared shirt. Brushed my teeth put on my jeans. Went straight to the cafeteria to grab some breakfast. My parents are out of town as well and I am also the only child.
I paid my chicken wrap and coffee I was about to head to Sheena's house when I bumped into Anne.
"Hey Jas! I haven't seen much of you lately." She winked as she flipped the edge of her floral skirt. "You heading to school?" She asked while holding the door.
"Yeah, I have to pick someone first then go straight to school." I managed to avoid any trouble as I went in my car.
"Ok. See you in school. Don't be a stranger!" She blew me a kiss.
Man! What's happening to me these days. Seems the girls are into me. Or I am just being paranoid.
I reached Sheena's place and rang the doorbell. She looks stunning on a lavender hanging blouse top and black mini skirt with black wedges and black leather jacket. She smells so good too. She kissed me straight on my lips as she went inside the passenger seat.
"Hey there boyfriend!" I closed the door for her and gave her coffee and muffin.
"Aww. You're such a sweetheart!" She sipped the coffee as I stared at her.
"What?" She asked removing her sunglasses.
"Nothing." I started the engine and sped thru the road. I still can't believe she is my girl.
We don't have any classes together so we agreed to see each other on lunch at the cafeteria. After my third period class I saw Dana.
"Hey, how was your tummy? Are you still feeling sick?" Well. That's one way to put it.
"Feeling a lot better actually." I wanted so much to tell her about Sheena but I just can't. I know she has to find it out from me. I just don't know how to start.
"My mom is making beef casserole you wanna come early tonight then we can hang out after?" She is busy fixing her stuff in her locker.
"I'm not sure yet."
"Why are your parents back, unexpectedly?" She asked raising an eyebrow.
"There you are! I am looking all over for you at your class." Damn! It was Sheena. Busted.
"Let's head on to lunch then!" I grabbed her wrist and made way to the cafeteria. Leaving a speechless Dana on her locker.
We reached the cafeteria and pulled a seat on the left corner near the vending machine. I caught a glimpse of Jack my buddy. Finally! Someone I can talk boy problems to. At last he's back from vacation.
"Hey buddy, sup man?" He joined me and Sheena at our table.
"By the way this is Jack my buddy, and Jack this is Sheena my girlfriend." As soon as I said the words "girlfriend" I heard a tray fell and all the food scattered on the floor. It was Dana, she was behind us just about to join our table. She didn't bother cleaning up the mess she just ran away from us. Did I hurt her? Does that mean she felt the same way about me? I have to find out. I excused myself from Sheena and Jack as I went after Dana.
"Dana, wait!"
Since she always won on track and field I can barely catch up to her. She finally stopped running and headed to the wooden stair chairs on the football arena. She was sitting when I got to her.
"Dana, I'm sorry I should've told you sooner." I sat beside her. I noticed she was wiping away her tears.
"Hey, don't worry about me. I was just surprised that's all. Overreacting is the least way to put it."
"Are you sure you're okay with this? Because.. I.."
"Will leave her?" She finished my sentence for me.
"Do you want me to?" I asked while holding her hands.
"Just leave me alone for a bit will you, Jasper?" She looked at me straight teary eyed.
"I can't. You have to tell me how you feel." "Please I need to know." I hugged her. She pushed me away.
"Jasper I am happy you found the love of your life. I truly am. Just be careful and good luck." "Go to her she's waiting for you." I stayed there for more than 10 minutes both of us speechless. Until my phone rang, it was Sheena.
"Baby, where are you? It's time to head back to class."
"I'm coming."
I tried persuading Dana to come with me she doesn't want to. I had no choice but to leave her. I went back to class with a heavy heart. I love Dana. I am infatuated with Sheena. I don't know what to do. Sheena didn't do anything wrong for me to leave her. I can't do that to her. But I am hurting Dana. I need some buddy moment with Jack.
----------------------------------------At the end of the day I didn't bother talking to anyone. I don't know why I feel this way. I was hurt. I know it was my plan to match them. But this was unexpected. All week I am thinking of a way to avoid Jasper. And now I got an instant solution that I barely worked for to happen, I got so affected. I felt betrayed. How could Sheena go behind my back without our plan. That Bitch! I made a mistake. That's what happens when you barely know someone. They can easily manipulate you.
Dana, are we okay? Speaking of the devil. Just got a text from her.
Why you didn't tell me, how did it happen so fast? We haven't even plan it yet.
It just happened, and we both agreed to it. Isn't that's what you wanted after all? Or so I thought. I don't know what to answer to this. I stayed in my room and has no appetite eating dinner that I just dozed off to sleep.
I awoke with somebody beside me. It was Jasper.
"Hey, how are you?"
"I should start closing my windows from now on before sleeping, who knows it's not only you who can climb that ladder." I stood up and went to the washroom. Jasper came knocking at my door.
"Dana please, you can't keep avoiding me like this." "I brought you some beignet donuts your favorite." He's bribing me. He knows I'm devastated.
"Just please get out!" I yelled back from inside the washroom.
"Dana we can't break up like this, we've been friends for life!" He answered back truthfully.
"Just go Jasper, your girlfriend may get jealous." I opened the door and he is still there sitting at the edge of my bed.
"Just do me a favor, I will get used to this, your new status in life. Give me like a month I will get back to normal, we will get back to normal." "But for now, I need you to stay away." I opened the window wide motioning for him to step outside. He went closer. I know what he is trying to do. He's testing the waters.
"Please, don't even try kissing me." I pushed him by the chest. "Just leave."
He slowly moved towards my window not removing his eyes off me.
"Watch what you're doing or you will slip!" I warned him. When he was already down on the lawn he's still staring at me.
"Goodnight Jasper." As I closed then locked my window. I never do that. I haven't done so even if it was raining hard. It was his pathway to reach me. Now closing it with him looking feels like someone just stabbed me. But this is my wrong doing. I did this to myself.
