-Amily's POV-

I stayed at Mags' place for the rest of the week. Finnick was furious when he woke up to no alcohol the next morning and Anchor has informed me that he's being sent off to rehab in the capital. He leaves tomorrow but I don't know if I want to say goodbye. He's not the nicest drunk and it's giving me flashbacks to the times I had to see my alcoholic uncle as a kid. My parents tried to limit our interactions, but he came over at least once every few months. Thankfully, I didn't have to see him anymore once I moved in with the Cresta's.

Speaking of Annie, she offered to let me stay with her for the month that Finnick's away but I politely declined. I'm probably gonna stay at my own place and clean it, considering it now smells like brandy. Also, Jack is adorable but I don't do well living with babies.

I give Finnick a brief goodbye before Anchor takes him to the train station. He looks like he hasn't slept and would not stop complaining about how we were sending him away. I tried explaining to him that it was for his own good but he didn't care.

Annie's birthday arrives and Finnick is still in the capital. I try to call him every day but apparently he's being difficult with the staff at the rehab facility and so he isn't always allowed to have phone calls. They might end up keeping him there for an extra month.

I spend the day at Annie's place, helping her with Jack and painting her nails. Jack is almost 1 now and has grown so much! Annie talks about how she wants to give him a sibling but Trent wants to wait a year or two so they won't be so close in age. They're wonderful parents and Trent seems to be more excited to be a dad than he was a few months ago.

The following week, I make my way back to the capital for work. Due to Finnick's absence this month, the remaining employed victors all have to pick up a few extra appointments to keep up with demand. I'm going to be here for 7 days straight and have 9 total appointments.

My busy work schedule is absolutely exhausting but I make time to visit Finnick that Wednesday. It's been nearly a month since we last saw each other and I miss having him home.

"Hey Finn," I sigh as I enter his room in the rehab facility. It's weird to be here not as a patient.

"Amily," he grumbles. He still seems mad about being sent here.

You sit down on his bed and ask, "How are you feeling?"

"Horrible," he replies. "They won't let me leave."

"Have you been making progress?" you ask. Hopefully they'll let him leave soon once he shows he's in control of himself.

"I guess," he mutters. "They don't trust me to go home and not drink even though I've told them I won't."

"Well luckily for you, Anchor has disposed of all the alcohol within Victor's Village," you chuckle.

"Not funny," he grumbles, staring down at his feet. You notice that he's keeping his hands busy by repeatedly tying knots in a short rope.

"I miss you Finn," you sigh, resting your head on his shoulder. He inches away from you, making you suddenly sit up.

"What?" you ask him, feeling annoyed.

"If you missed me you would let them send me home," he grumbled.

"Finn I have no control over when they release you," you try to explain. "You need to finish getting better."

"I am better," he huffs, avoiding eye contact.

"Finnick," you plead, trying to keep yourself from crying. "I want nothing more than for that to be true but I know you. You're not better and lying to yourself isn't going to help. You've seen what happens when I lie about my progress and it hasn't ended up going well."

"I'm not you!" he shouts, making you jump up. "I'm not broken and I don't need fixing."

He thinks you're broken? It wasn't completely wrong but it still hurt to hear him say it.

"Please get better," you sniffle as you exit the room, not even bothering to say goodbye.

After your appointment that evening you call Anchor, not knowing who else to talk to about Finnick.

"Hello?" he asks as he picks up the phone.

"Hey Anchor," you sigh. It was obvious you had been crying.

"Uh what can I do for you?" he asks.

"Um could you move Finnick's stuff out of my house?" you ask him. "I don't think we should be living together anymore."

"God Amily you went and saw him didn't you," Anchor groaned.

"I'm sorry," you cry. "I really missed him."

"No Amily it's ok," he sighed. "He's not getting better is he?"

"No," you quietly reply. "He isn't drinking but he's not himself and he refuses to admit he needs help." Anchor let's out a long sigh.

"You hang in there ok?" he states. "Phillip and I will move his stuff into my guest room tomorrow and I'll give the rehab center a call to find out when they're expecting to release him. Just focus on yourself right now."

"Thanks Anchor," you sigh as you hang up the phone. You can't believe it had come to this.
