-Finnick's POV-

The sound of Anchor yelling that breakfast is ready wakes me up. God I'm hungover. I roll over to see Amily sleeping peacefully. Did we really share a bed last night? The night was fuzzy but I know we definitely didn't do anything inappropriate. We were both drunk last night so Anchor made us stay over.

I get up and use the restroom before returning to the guest room to wake Amily up.

"Ams," I state, gently shaking her shoulder. "Breakfast is ready we need to wake up."

I begin to shake her harder as she still isn't waking up. I pull the covers off her but she doesn't move an inch.

"Come on Ams we have to go," I plead as I start to get worried. Amily was normally not a deep sleeper.

"Finnick!" I hear Anchor yell. "Food is getting cold."

"She's not waking up!" I yell back, trying not to alarm him. She feels cold but she's always cold so it's hard to tell if that's normal.

Anchor comes in and trips over her bag which she left on the floor. He hears something that worries him and he quickly opens the bag and dumps it out. Three empty glass vials roll out along with some clearly used syringes.

"Oh my god," I mutter, starting to realize what happened. There's no way she was just drunk last night. She was too wasted for the amount of drinks she had.

Anchor rushes over to her and grabs her arm. He starts shaking when he sees the fresh syringe marks near her elbow. She's still not waking up and I'm starting to panic.

"Finnick get the doctor," Anchor practically screams at me. I bolt out the door and sprint the 5 minutes to the closest doctor's office.

It takes awhile for me to return with the doctor. When we get in the house I see Anchor crying over an unresponsive Amily.

"She stopped breathing," he states as he frantically tries to do chest compressions. I've never seen Anchor this panicked.

The doctor rushes in and immediately injects her with some sort of medicine. He puts an oxygen mask on Amily and commences CPR. He hands me his communicuff and tells me to dial "9" and request a medical hovercraft.

Doing as he said, Anchor and I wait outside for the hovercraft to arrive. The other victors rushed outside to see what the commotion was about but one look at Anchor told them to take Mags inside and not let her see what was happening.

Two minutes later, the hovercraft landed and a medical team rushed into the house. The medication and cpr had made Amily somewhat alive but they had to hook her up to a ventilator as she wasn't breathing on her own. Anchor decided to ride in the hovercraft with her to the capital hospital where they would take her for treatment. The doctor said he would send any updates he gets and the hovercraft departed.

When the hovercraft was gone, Mimi ran out of her house and engulfed me in a hug. I could barely control the sobs that were escaping my mouth. What was I going to tell Annie? I assume she is still at Trent's right now but she would be home soon.

As if reading my mind, Mimi said, "If you want to tell me what's going on, I can give Annie the news and stay with her today."

Nodding, I tell her what happened.
"Um Amily had an overdose," I sniffled. "Morphling I think. We found her this morning. She wasn't breathing. I don't know-" I have to stop before I cry any harder.

"She will make it Finnick," Mimi says comfortingly. "She's a strong girl."

Annie came home an hour later and Mimi went to update her. I still haven't heard from the capital but hopefully no news is good news. Phillip is staying with me at my place while Warren is distracting Mags. She knows something happened but nobody wants to tell her until we know if Amily is going to make it or not.

I feel so guilty. I should have noticed the changes in her behavior. I should have noticed that she was too intoxicated last night. I should have had Anchor stay with her instead of me. He would have noticed sooner. Where did she even get the morphling?

It suddenly clicks in my head. Her clients. There wasn't a way in District 4 to get morphling so she had to be getting it in the capital. I race to the phone to call Johanna.

*Please pick up* I think.
"Hello," Jo says.

"Johanna," I sob. I can't keep it together anymore.
"Finnick what's wrong?" she asks but I'm crying to hard to respond.

"Oh god Finnick I'm so sorry," she states. Jo is pretty smart and probably put the pieces together.

"I don't think she's gonna make it," I cry as I slide down to the floor and hug my knees.

"Hold on I'm getting Blight," Johanna says as I hear her set the phone down. Jo wasn't super good at handling these things. Blight was much better at it. A few minutes later I hear Blight pick up.

"Finnick..." he sighs.
"She overdosed," I sigh into the phone.

"Finnick you need to listen to me," Blight states. "This is not your fault. Blaming yourself is not going to help. She's going to make it."

"She wasn't breathing," you whisper into the phone and you hear Blight let out a long sigh. "They flew her to the capital. It's really bad Blight."

"Finnick," Blight groans. "You need to find whatever supplies she has and dispose of them. You also need to figure out where she's getting it so she doesn't get any more."

"Her clients," I sigh. "She's getting it from her clients." I hear Johanna start screaming profanities and glass breaking in the background.

"Hey Finnick," says a worried Blight, "I gotta deal with Jo but please call when you have any updates."

"Ok," I sigh as Blight hangs up.

Later that evening, I get a call from Anchor.
"Hey Finnick how are you holding up?" he asks, clearly exhausted.

"Not well," I reply. "Is she ok?"
Anchor lets out a long sigh and I fear the worst.

"They have her sedated but they think she's gonna make it," he says and I breathe a sigh of relief.

"However," he states, "they don't know the extent of the brain damage she sustained and she's still hooked up to the ventilator. Once she is stable, they're gonna move her to the rehab facility in the hospital for a month."

"When are you coming home?" I ask.
"They've offered to fly me back tonight," he states. "Have you told Mags yet?"

"No," I reply. "Mimi told Annie but Warren has been keeping Mags busy. We wanted to wait for and update before we sat her down."

"Ok," he sighed. "I'll be home in two hours. When I get back we are both going to Mags' to tell her."
I agree and we end the call.

Mags is inconsolable when we tell her the news, no matter how many times we tell her she's going to make it. I can see how much Mags feels guilty even though there's nothing more she could have done. Warren promises to stay with Mags and Anchor walks me home.

"Now don't do anything stupid kid," he instructs me as we reach my front door. "She's gonna need you when she gets home."

I nod and head inside, hoping that no nightmares will haunt me tonight.
