Blake's Perspective

Keagan was our waitress? I couldn't even get my order out of my mouth, I was unable to say anything. First my ex calls me and lies to Theo and now she's here? This date was so that Theo and I could get away from other people, especially annoying bitches like Keagan.

Keagan looked up from the screen that she was tapping on and her resting bitch face turned into a fake wide smile when she eyed the two of us sitting together. "Oh my gosh, hey! I didn't expect you guys here!" I didn't feel like causing a scene, so I answered her sarcastically. "Oh, hey, nice to see you too, Keagan."

When I thought she'd actually do her job instead of harassing us just because she knew who we were, she started to make "small talk" and I wasn't having it. I say "small talk" in quotes because it was more like taking subtle digs at Theo and I. "What're you two doing here? I feel like Blake would be partying at Matt Peterson's house on a Saturday night. It's so unusual to see him eating dinner with a classmate!" I scoffed at her comment.

"Theo isn't just my classmate. Also I'd rather be here with him, alone, instead of partying today." I hoped that she'd take a hint and ask for our orders, but her smile only dropped a little and I saw her grip on her iPad tighten.

"Oh really? I didn't think boys like Theo would match up to Blake's energy and I didn't know that you swung both ways Blake!" My jaw dropped. I was tired of her talking and needed to get our food and maybe a new waiter, fast. "I'm full of surprises, hm? I guess it should also surprise you to know that Theo "matches my energy" more than you ever did and I don't swing both ways. Bold of you to assume I'm still attracted to girls thinking that you have a chance with me again." Keagan looked humiliated and her jaw was clenched, probably gritting her teeth together in anger.

"Now can we please get our orders? This place has an hour and thirty minute time limit per table and I'm giving it three stars for their service if you're going to just stand there and waste our date." Keagan took a sharp breath in and forced a smile. "What do you want?" I smiled and turned to Theo, motioning for him to order first. He smiled back at me gratefully and mouthed, "are you sure?" I nodded and watched in satisfaction as he told her what he wanted without being bothered.

Keagan eventually left with both of our orders and left us alone. "Thanks for telling her off, I didn't expect her to talk to us like that," Theo sighed. "Of course. I can't believe she's our waitress." I shook my head in annoyance. "Let's not let her ruin our dinner though." I reached across the table and intertwined my hand with Theo's. He gave my hand a comforting squeeze and turned to the view of the sunset.

A few minutes later, a waiter came up to our table, and it wasn't Keagan! "Here are your drinks," he said, placing an iced water in front of me and Theo's Sierra Mist in front of him. "If you're wondering where your waitress Keagan went, she got called to another table. I'll be your waiter for today, my name is Jarred."

I didn't even know him and I already liked him better than Keagan. Jarred left and I sipped on some of my water in a nice glass, taking in the atmosphere of the rest of the restaurant. I saw that Keagan was actually serving another table and didn't just make up an excuse to leave or something, but even from far away saw her eyes lock with mine. Her eyes were narrowed and I could still see her glaring at me from across the room as she picked up menus and walked away.

It'd been a couple of hours since we left the restaurant and drove back to my place, and Theo's head laid on my chest while we both remained silent. "Blake?" He questioned, his gaze not detaching from the ceiling. "Hm?" I muttered in response, moving my hand to his head to run my fingers through his soft, brunette hair.
