AT TYLLI'S PARENTS' HOUSE

It was a quarter before midnight. Tylli was about to go to bed after refreshing up, when she received a text from Joshua.

From: Dr. Dechavez

I'm outside

'What is he doing here?', she thought.

To: Dr. Dechavez

Bakit?

She was wating for a reply when there was knock on her door.

Mama
Ty, anak, na sa labas si Joshua.

Tylli
Bakit daw, Ma?

Mama
Hinahanap ka..

Isasarado na sana ni Papa mo ang gate nang dumating siya. Mukhang nakainom nang kaunti.

Tylli
Hindi niya sinabi kung bakit pa siya pumunta rito?

Mama
Hindi naman. Nako, puntahan mo na, birthday pa niya. I-greet mo.

'A little greeting won't hurt.. right?', she asked herself. The whole day, she couldn't make herself greet him or even just type a message. She even used Butter just to tell him she was waiting for him at home. She baked him a cake on her own initiative to show appreciation for the things that Joshua has done to her while she was recovering. It was just a token of appreciation, but she was scared Joshua might take it the wrong way, so she couldn't really tell him that she prepared something for her. It's best to hide things that way.

But he's there.. waiting outside of her parents' house.

I told you, I'll come here.

My friends forced me to celebrate with them, so I couldn't come here early.. I'm sorry.

Tylli
Naiintindihan ko. Sige na, umuwi ka na.

Joshua
I drove here after I saw your texts.

Don't worry, I'm not drunk. I'm already sober.

Where's Butter? I hope he's not mad at me.

Tylli
Hindi 'yon. Siya na lang ang kumain ng cake mo.

About the cake, I'm sorry.. If I had known, I should've left there sooner.

We can just buy one again tomorrow..
