Memories, Good And Bad

You and Jack made small talk all night, catching each other up on little things that you've missed in each other's lives, everything either of you could think of. For once, you weren't fighting. You two had a small fight on the phone, but that was it. You weren't sure if it was going to last, but you were both enjoying it while it did.

You ended up cuddled in your bed, and even though you two agreed on only talking, you broke that awhile ago. Though you only shared one kiss, before you both stopped from going any further. Jack did keep his arms around you, rubbing your back softly as you slowly fell asleep, your head on his chest with your arm laying over his stomach. Jack smiled softly at you, gently pressing a kiss to the top of your head before laying his head back to try to fall asleep himself.

Jack couldn't sleep though, he couldn't stop thinking about all the memories he had of your relationship.

The time you surprised him on tour.

7 months into your relationship Jack had to leave to go on tour. Jack wanted you to come with him, but you couldn't join him, not for the first month and a half. Though a month in and your schedule changed making it so you could join him sooner. You had made a plan with Urban to fly in 2 weeks early to surprise Jack.

Somehow Jack hadn't caught on to your plan, even though you had slipped up and left your suitcase out in the background of one of your nightly facetime calls with Jack, while he did notice and ask about it, you played it off as if you were starting to get ready to leave in a couple weeks, you were supposed to be joining him for the last month and a half of his tour so he believed you.

It was difficult, but Urban managed to distract Jack while you were on your flight and then made sure Jack was in his hotel room when you arrived. Jack was just getting ready to facetime you when he heard a knock at the door. He thought about ignoring it, if it was important enough, they would knock again or if someone needed him, they could text him. He decided to just answer the door though, the sooner he got whatever it was over with, the sooner he could facetime you.

Jack opened the door, and it took him a second to process that it was you, but as soon as he did his arms were around your waist, lifting you up as you wrapped your arms around his neck and your legs around his waist.

"Wait, what are you doing here?" Jack asked. "I'm so happy you are though." Jack said, holding you with one arm as he used the other to pull your bag inside the room before closing the door, before holding you tighter against him, burying his head in your neck, making you giggle.

"I heard you missed me." You teased Jack.

"I only tell you that every night." Jack joked, laughing softly, pulling away to kiss you, you kissed him back before pulling away.

"I got off work 2 weeks early and I decided to surprise you. Urban helped me plan everything." You told Jack, running your fingers through his hair.

"Well, I'm glad you did." Jack set you down gently on the bed before sitting next to you, lying back on the bed before pulling you gently on top of him. "Are you tired baby?" Jack asked.

"Yeah, do you have anything today?" You asked Jack and he shook his head.

"Nope, day off, so I'm all yours, I was just about to call you when you showed up actually. Let's order food and then take a nap?" Jack suggested, and you nodded.

"Sounds good to me." You smiled, kissing Jack softly, and while eventually you did order food and take a nap, you both let yourself get a little distracted before you did.

When Jack told you he wanted to marry you.

Jack had 2 weeks left of tour, and to say he was excited for a break was an understatement. He loved tour and preforming, but it was a lot. The only thing getting Jack through the last few weeks was knowing that he had 2 weeks after with absolutely nothing planned, no shows, no interviews, no studio time, the only plans he had was to spend the whole 2 weeks with you.
