Jungkook"What if I marry you?" I let the words spill out of my mouth before I can change my mind.
But when I see the shock in Alexa's eyes, her gaze widening as if I had just sprouted a second head, I immediately wished I could take back my impulsive offer.
She looked almost traumatized by my words, and I couldn't blame her. Why had I thought this was a good idea? I really need to start thinking before I open my mouth.
I swear, I have no bad intentions about this offer at all. I would never even think about Jimin's girlfriend in a romantic manner. Not that I didn't notice the undeniable beauty Alexa possesses. She exudes a captivating allure that is simply mesmerizing. Her long black hair cascades down her back, framing her delicate features with elegance. It is as if each strand has been meticulously placed to enhance her natural beauty. But it is her eyes that truly leave an indelible impression. Large and expressive, they possess a deep, rich shade of brown that seems to hold a universe of emotions within their depths.
It was ridiculous for her to think she can just walk into a bar in the middle of the night, completely alone and get drunk. It was obvious that her beauty would be a magnetic force that will draw the attention of every man in the bar and I don't even want to think about what would have happened if I wouldn't have been there to stop him. I couldn't help but feel a surge of anger towards her, for making such a stupid mistake.
Yet, despite her undeniable beauty, I am acutely aware of the boundaries that exist. Alexa is Jimin's girlfriend, and I am steadfast in my commitment to respect their relationship. I can control my thoughts and emotions, ensuring that my admiration for her remains purely platonic.
As I stood there, watching her in this vulnerable state, I couldn't help but recall Jimin's words.
He had entrusted me with a responsibility, a promise to look after Alexa while he was away. He had made it clear that if any problems arose, it was on me to help her. Jimin had entrusted his girlfriend's well-being and happiness to me, and I couldn't bear the thought of disappointing him.
Alexa's eyes searched mine, her expression a mix of confusion and disbelief. "Jungkook, what are you saying?" she finally managed to utter, her voice trembling.
In a panic, I tried to out-traumatize her. I swallowed hard, my palms growing clammy. "I mean, not like for real," I stammered, desperately trying to backtrack. "Just, you know, as a way to help you out. We would just be married on paper. No one even needs to know about this. I'm gonna continue living my life as always and you could continue to stay in Korea. And before Jimin returns, we could divorce."
She tilted her head, studying me intently.
Way to go, Jungkook. Way to make it weird.
This was the worst idea in history.
"And why would you want to do that? We barely know each other."
A heavy sigh escaped my lips as I struggled to gather my scattered thoughts. Never before had I experienced such a profound sense of embarrassment. And to make matters worse, it was in the presence of a woman, adding an extra layer of humiliation to the mix. "Look Alexa, Jimin is not only my best friend. He's like a brother to me. And he loves you." I sit down on the bed again, nervously fidgeting with my fingers. I can't remember the last time I felt so nervous. "Before he left, he said that he trusts me to be there for you while he can't. If any problems arises, he told me to be there for you. I can't let him down."
