TRIGGER WARNING: blood, gore, wounds, a shit tone of blood, more gore, you get the point.

As a healer, you get used to seeing stomach sickening wounds. Actually, it's expected.

When you started as a medic for the emperor's coven, you were prepared to see wounds so gruesome, so disgusting, so brutally gut twisting like you've never seen before.

You've only had to deal with a few of those in the short time you've worked here though.

Most of the time, you try and make small talk with your patients.
"Is that a new scar?"
"How's the wife?"
"What has your weirdest dream been?"
And usually it starts a conversation to last long enough until the end of their appointment.

If the wound is bad enough you'll often have to temporarily put the person to sleep before helping them.

One time, while you were helping a witch with an arm wound, the actual Golden Guard walked in.

Of course most of the staff came to their aid, prioritizing them over all the other people who'd been waiting in line for hours on end.

Goldie had just come back from their mission.

You couldn't see much through their cape or mask but you could quite easily see the blood slowly seeping through their white cape, making a bright red stain on what looked like a freshly washed uniform.

The medics checked for any infection signs as the healers started doing their thing.

You finished bandaging the patient you were working with and sent them on their way. You brought another patient out of the waiting room.

The Golden Guard was taking up quite some time with their appointment, as they had a face injury but refused to take off the mask, making everyone else in the waiting room a second priority. Thanks a lot, "prodigy".

Your next client had a wound so deep in their arm you could see the bone. This was one of those gut-tossing injuries that made it hard not to feel nauseous. The bone was almost fully revealed and their arm had no flesh in the one section.

Simply the sight of that would be enough to make someone vomit. (One of the medics did). However, you have grown quite used to seeing things like this. You only get queasy when it's someone you deeply care about.

Your shift was practically over. You didn't have time to deal with this patient. Luckily, another medic was just starting their shift. As soon as he saw the patient, he called for backup.

A/N...
Sorry about the really short chapter. I'm still getting used to this whole author thing.
The next chapter will be longer.
