It was a couple of weeks after the last time you heard about Overlord, needless to say all of you were still trying to find Pythor and Borg, who, from what you heard, was a really nice man and you genuinely wished you could meet him. You also made sure Lloyd was 100% safe, this time sticking together and having spy devices on you once you went outside, sending audio or video recording in real-time to the tower where Pixal, and others at times, could monitor everything and send help if needed.

It was exhausting.

The idea of being listened or watched, even if those were your friends and it was supposed to prevent another kidnapping, was making you more anxious than you normally were. You, the children, the adults, Echo, Nya and Pixal mostly stayed inside, trying to catch anything out of place and trying to make something from the things you managed to get so far, meanwhile the ninja were looking around or patrolling the nearest area.

You felt trapped.

Sure, there were times you were allowed out, if you weren't you would most likely go insane from all the stress and whatnot. But even when you and one of your friends walked around the city, you knew you were locked up. You couldn't go anywhere on your own, not that you wanted to, not with some maniacs running around but still. You couldn't stop worrying about pretty much everyone, whether it was the boys while they were out or Lloyd when you left him with the others so you wouldn't go crazy staying in one room. Normally you would worry about them too, but now you knew there was a real threat that could take one of them away for good.

The more time passed the less precautions you were taking, which only made you more paranoid.

Today you, Cole and the children went to the cinema to watch Starfarer. It was the first time in a very long while when you felt normal. Also, they deserved that, all this ordeal with safety took a tool on them, how could it not? Keeping them in one place, the only safe place, and always under someone's watch obviously bored them out of their minds and annoyed them as hell. Most of the fun was taken away from them, and you couldn't even be mad at them for acting all grumpy.

For a moment, you really thought it was going to get better. Just like it did after the Ultimate Battle.

But thinking back, if the Overlord was never really defeated, did it get any better?

Or was this all just a ruse to give you false hope everything can be just the way it was before you found those damned kunai knives?

Kai was supposed to patrol the area in case something suspicious happens, especially since Pixal picked up a coded message from Cryptor, who still seem to work with the serpent and who also needed to get caught if any of you wanted to have a normal life ever again.
