"How can you trust him," says Mother," Why would he love a girl he'll never see?" Tears roll down my face. I just think to myself. Shut up Mother you don't know him. I couldn't stand the tension anymore. I run into my room and slam the door behind me. I plop on my bed and lay there balling my eyes out. What does she know? She doesn't know him like I do. He's not the same as other guys. I hear a knock at my door. "Go away," I shout.
"Jul, I come in," Robby just bursts into my room and sits on my bed.
"Jul, why you sad," he asked looking puzzled.
"Robby, mom doesn't get that I love him," I managed to say balling into my pillow. Robby didn't say anything. He understood what it was like to love family but not to love another person.
"Jul, Mom love you. No cry," he said rubbing my head. He puts his face into the pillow with mine.
"What are you doing, Robby?" I sniffled looking over at him.
"I pray to God you stop crying," he whispered. I wipe my face and tap him on the shoulder.
"God told me everything will be okay." I get my laptop from under my bed and turn it on. "He also told me you like Batman now. So let's watch it," I sniffled wiping my eyes and nose. Robby gets under my blankets and is ready for the movie. I put the laptop on my desk, turn off the lights, and closed the blinds.
I slowly open my eyes to a text message. I want to see you tonight. Meet me at the bus stop by your school.-Stepphano. I look over to see Robby sleeping. We both must have fallen asleep watching Batman. I text back. I'll be there. I quietly get out of bed and search for a jacket and my shoes. I look over at Robby. I slowly open my bedroom window. I look over at him again as I slowly make my way out on the window ledge and leave my window cracked a little. I opened our crinkly gate and walk down to our school, and wait for Stepphano.
It felt like I was waiting for Stepphano for 2 hours. I see him walking and I run to him.
"Why didn't you call when you got here?" he asked giving me a kiss.
"I sneaked out. I also left my phone so they'd think I was still there," I stated looking at him. "My mom and I got into a fight about you."
"Well, that makes sense. I called you to let you know how long it would be. Why did you argue about me, my love?" Stepphano asked sounding sad.
"She thinks you'll hurt me. I know you won't in less than a year we'll live together. No more Libby," I said holding onto his hand.
"I'll never leave your side baby," Stepphano expressed kissing me as it started to pour down raining.
"Nothing can ruin this night or our moments together," I stated looking up into the sky as rain poured down on us. Then I hear something..someone faintly calling my name.
"Jul!" I turn around and see someone in the distance sprinting for me. At first, I couldn't see who it was. Then as they got closer I realized it was Robby. This became a day I'll never forget. I ran closer to him, as my world became in slow motion. I looked to my right and saw a car coming. I looked back at Robby and yelled out, "Robby look out!". I watched the driver hit Robby and fling him 10 yards away then the car went a little further before it stopped. All you hear is the sound of a loud screech and the smell of burning tires in the rain. I run over to Robby's unconscious body. I roll him over and noticed blood starting to fill his shirt. "Robby, Robby! Stepphano call 911! Robby Robby no!"
