Man vs Aliens

Chapter 2, A True Soldier

Three days after that we gathered at a private meeting with two other people I have never met. First there was Akina with her heavy missile mech and extra steel plating. She had dark brown hair and wore glasses. Then there was Winston with a dual wielding mech like mine and short dark brown hair. Also this was the first time I saw Ender in person, she had long, dark hair and her mech was single bladed.
We discussed about the sudden attack of dashers, this of course was the most confusing topic because now the aliens were sending unscheduled attacks with small units of enemies. We talked for a while about the attack when suddenly the topic was brought up "how did you manage to preform a three way fusion anyway?" The old man said in an English accent.
"Instinct I guess" I thought for a while
"But you were never taught that by anyone before" the elder said thoughtfully
"I guess so" I said searching for an explanation
"And what bugs me is how you restarted your gear and called while transferring momentum at the same time"
"Well I taught him the momentum stuff" Erik said proudly
"And I taught him how to quick call" Ender said after
"And weren't you the one that taught me how to restart my gear?" I looked at him closely
"Well that does make sense" Akina said thoughtfully
"Perhaps we should launch an attack on the aliens for once" Winston said looking out the window diverting the topic
"That would work if we had a better drive for the mechs" the elder looked at one of the heavy mechs
"But what if we add a different kind of mech?" I suggested
"Like a speed of light mech!" Erik said looking through a science book, searching for a page
"Yes, we could add an integrated drive to the existing mechs, but it's hard to reach light speed" the elder pondered
"We could transfer velocity to reach that speed" I looked at Erik and smiled
"That would use too much power though" the elder sat back down and looked at Erik to see if he had something to say
"We don't need another power source, right Erik?" Ender looked at Erik
"No we don't, we just need to reserve a lot of energy" Erik's face lit up like a lightbulb "We could add a stasis field to protect against the g-force"
"Sounds like a plan" the elder smiled "Tomorrow we will build the new drive and in a month we will fight back against the aliens!"
"I think we should train here for a while if we want to infiltrate the hornets nest" Akina suggested
"Alright it's a plan" Winston said.

Me, Erik, Ender, Akina and Winston trained together. Sethra was getting psychology treatment, turns out she was in love with Philip who was being treated at a nearby hospital, mentally his state was off but physically his state was perfect. He wouldn't be able to fly another mech without his brain overloading (basically frying up) but he didn't mind, after all, he got to see his girlfriend everyday and they were happy. While their story had ended with a happy ending, we still had to see ours, either walk towards the sunset or burn in it. Our training was long and difficult but we got through it with a smile (it was fun as well). The month passed by and we had a new drive, big, shiny and smelt like a new car. We suited up in our horrific jumpsuits and blasted off. It took about an hour but we did the slingshot manoeuvre around the sun and shot like a bullet, except faster. The stasis field deployed itself and we started our next mission, find and eliminate. In minutes we came to our destination, it was a massive planet with factories all over (the aliens must not give a crap about global warming), it was red and blue with scorch marks all over. No vegetation and incredibly close to its star, the atmosphere was a weird brown colour and as soon as we got close, they fired. Automated and piloted ships attempted to attack the hundreds of small mechs in front of them. I looked over at the elder, he nodded and I exchanged the signal, it was time for a fusion, this time everyone did different fusions, twos and threes. The aliens were hesitant at first (if you ask me I think it's because they have never seen fusion) but in the end they attacked. Hundreds turned into tens and with the fusion handicap, we started the war. Me, personally had chose Erik and Ender as fusion buddies because the had done it before. They five blades struck through the first space ship in front of us and scrap went flying everywhere, next we attacked the aliens in front if us. We fought for a while but we were unaware of the other inhabited planets, after all, this was the only one we had seen attacks come from. The aliens stopped since their forces grew little, and we watched them slowly withdraw back to their planet. Some of us stayed and took over the planet while people like me went back to Earth, we had won the battle but something was odd about this, we lost lots of soldiers and mechs but the aliens didn't look like they cared, they just let themselves be killed on that planet.
I felt like this was just the beginning.
