I had felt odd all night. Something wasn't right, we killed the aliens on their planet and colonised it (I'm actually living on the planet right now) and the factories turned into our own but we still received odd signals. They were the same ones coming from this planet but we couldn't pin point a specific one planet they were coming from. Theorists came up with strange theories like "The aliens are still on that planet, they're just hiding" or "There are thousands of aliens still in that sector of space, they're just on other planets" but our research and analysing have proven those theories are wrong but we still aren't sure what it is. Erik and Ender think they know but they're hiding it from me so I'm worried. In other news, the elders have put together an engine which allows up to six way fusion without too much strain on the body so at least if they do attack we can strike back but I still don't feel right.

The next morning proves what's going on. "Is there any way to deactivate it?" I asked frantically, "No, but if we don't get off this planet in five days we'll be floating bones in space!" Announcer looked at me almost yelling every word, we didn't ask for his name or age because of his size and anger but on the inside he's actually a nice guy. "Well let's get off it then!" I yelled.
"Sorry pal, but that ain't so easy"
"Why, we just transfer velocity and we get off"
"Well you know those theories about the aliens being still alive"
"Oh no"
"Oh yes, look out the window"
I looked through the glass and saw the horrors that awaited. Layer after layer on camouflaged walls slowly peeling off to reveal thick blankets of alien troops.
"They'll kill themselves if they're so close"
"Bad news buddy, bomb only works on humans"
"Oh come on, is there any way to fight our way out?"
"Yeah, if you wanted to be sliced instead of blown to bits"
"I'll take my chances"
"Ok so, ninety-nine times infinity percent says you'll live"
"Well, it's better than nothing"
"It is nothing!" After announcer had said that I thought of a brilliant plan
"See ya, I've got to go talk to an elder"
"You mean you've got a plan?"
"Course I do"
"Well I'll make you a bet, if you get off this doomsday rock, I'll get you a prototype mech"
"And if I lose?"
"We all get killed"
"Deal"
"Wait you're seriously thinking of escaping?"
"That's the plan" I began to walk out of the mech bay
"Hey Darren!"
"Yeah?"
"I'll join in on your death wish"
"Really?"
"Yeah, it'll pay off the prototype"
I waved and walked off to see an elder. "I hope you realise this is suicide" the elder said "Hey it might work" I looked at him smiling "And by doing this we might be able to get others off"
"There's too much of a risk"
"Do you have another plan?"
"Well no, but I'm sure we can think of something that won't kill us all in the process"
"And if you don't?"
"Then we'll do yours"
"Oh by the way, what mechs are you working on?"
"What do you mean?"
"Prototypes"
"Well on Earth we have a special one, but you'll find out when it comes out"
"When's it due?"
"Around sixteen years"
"Jeez, must be really good"
"The best" the elder smiled at me
I was really glad I made that bet now, I might get to use it.
"I hope you haven't arrangements with announcer, he usually steals prototypes for others"
"Nope, none at all"
"Oh the youth"
I walked out, note to self: tell announcer to get another kind of thing for me.

Three days had passed by and the aliens didn't move whatsoever, we didn't know if they were even operational or not but we didn't want to check. The elders devised a plan to deactivate the bomb but I put my plan together with other army members. Only one elder knew about this but for the sake of a plan b he didn't tell the others, instead he ordered half of the American army to listen to my plan. We trained for the fateful day and suited our mech accordingly. Now we had twenty-four hours until the big bang, we suited up and the elders chatted amongst themselves. The plan would begin now.

We struck the aliens only to realise that they were shells, there was no AI operating them and we felt like idiots. We transferred our velocity and began to take off but that wasn't the only bomb in the sector. A massive EMP went off and paralysed all mechs in the area. We restarted our engines but saw the amount of aliens behind us and froze in place. A swarm of at least one million were coming after us, each mech had a different pattern on it. In the centre of the swarm was a gigantic spaceship (about thirty times bigger than a planet) that seemed to be cloaking all of the units and setting off EMPs. I could tell that this was the end of the human race.
