[TW: death]
"How could you." Regulus said in disbelief, he was pacing up and down the astronomy tower. This had been the go to place to meet for James and Regulus."How could you!" He raised his voice. He stopped and turned to face James, who was sitting on a bench -staring at the grey floor avoiding all eye contact with the small brunette.
"I'm," he thought about looking up at him, but decided against it. "I'm so sorry, really I am. I want you."
"Then why can't you look at me!" Regulus choked out. His voice sounded breathy and brittle. To James, who had heard this voice so many times before, it sounded like it was on its last legs. It could shatter at any moment.
James raised his head hesitantly. He came face to face with the small boy, who's face was now showing an expression of hurt. Something James never wanted to cause.
He had only ever wanted to love Regulus. But how do you love the boy who was not meant for love?
"I'm so sorry." James said genuinely once again.
"No your not. I was just your experiment. Your past time. You never loved me.""Oh, for Merlins sake Reg, we weren't even dating!" He didn't mean it. In his head him and Regulus were already married with 6 children!
Regulus' breath stopped. He was right. They hadn't even been dating. Just flirting. Just messing around. Regulus was just a fling to James. Or so he thought.
"I didn't mean it."
"What did you mean."
"I love you Reggie."
"Save it."Regulus left the tower before James could get the last word, as he always did with arguments.

"How many chances does he think he is going to get?" Regulus thought.
Angry blood pumped through his body, as a river road of tears ran down his face. He stripped naked and laid down on his bed.
He raised the familiar blade and cut.
Red met green as Regulus' blood fell down, soaking into the covers.
He kept cutting until it got too much.
Regulus glanced at the wall. A large mirror stood looking at him. Judging him.
He saw himself in the glass and dropped the blade.
"Fuck. Oh no. Fuck." He panicked, getting up from the bed holding the cuts tightly.
Rushing into the small bathroom. He turned the shower on and got in.
He screamed in agony as the warm water met the fresh cuts.
The scream echoed through the bathroom and Regulus saw his fate.
He was going to die.
He looked down at the bright red water and fell.
It was getting harder to breathe. To move. To think.
The realisation of death hit him harder than a bat. He let go.
He stopped fighting for life and started getting ready to greet death.
"I'm sorry." He said to no one. He wasn't sure if anyone really cared.
Laying in a poof of his own tears and blood, he let out a soft breath.
Then, his lungs set to rest.
He closed his eyes and it all disappeared.Regulus Arcturus Black was dead.
