"You bitch!" I bawled, shaking in anger. "I'll kill you!" I found myself screaming at the top of my lungs, though my body was tired from hyperventilating.
"Well I'd rather be a bitch than a nice girl, they don't really get respected." She leaned forward with the back of her hand against her mouth as if she was sharing a secret with me. "I mean this is awkward really, all you had to do was be there with him and die in peace." Pam scoffed.
The cries left my mouth in broken screams as I stared down at Sarawat's body. There was no way that any of this was real. But this grief certainly feels so.
"Well technically I'm in your head, so I'm not really here. Just visiting." She shrugged, inspecting the things in the dresser. "And no this isn't real." As she said these words my heart came down from my mouth, as my trembling subsided. I looked down at the Duke's body in my lap, wondering whether it was okay to believe her. "Think of this as a sneak peak of what's in store for the two of you."
I laid the Wat decoy on the bed and stood up, hastily wiping the blood off my hands. "I won't let you do it." I steadied my heart. Even though she intended to scare me, it motivated me more than bring fear. I really wasn't going to back down until I found a solution.
Sorry Drake.
"That can be up for discussion since you're quite the determined player." She chuckled, nodding to herself. A part of me wanted to rip that veil off her head and expose her wicked face. "Till next time then, Tine Alford."
With her snap of her fingers my body jerked awake to see Type standing at the foot of my bed with an older man.
"Tine!!" Type rushed to my side, holding me up. I was curious as to why he was being fragile with me until my head went light and my vision started to darken upon my sudden movement. Not to mention my body damp was the excessive body temperature and sweat.
"What happened." I groaned pulling the sheets over my body from the chills I experienced.
"You have a really bad fever and you slept for 3 days." Type sighed, dismissing the older man. "Thank you for your help, doctor."
"I slept for 3 days??" I was surprised but lacked the energy in my body to exhibit it.
"Yes, we were all afraid for you since you fever is consistent. Are you alright?" I really didn't know how to answer that, my limbs felt an immense ache and my heart was palpitating. "Don't worry, we've called for Duke Sarawat a while ago, he should be on his way."
My eyes widened and I jumped to my feet though my legs felt weak. Type quickly grabbed me. "Tine you mustn't! you're not well!"
"I-I can't see him, I have to find that witch. I'm so close." I struggled to grab my things but Type watched me in hesitation.
"Well you're in no state. You're burning up for Christ's sake! I'll tell His Highness to tell Sarawat not to come, I-"
"-He won't listen. I ran away and he's been trying to find me." I shoved my clothes in my bag before pulling it over my shoulder. "You need to tell him to be a little more patient. I'll go home soon." I hoped that the desperation in my voice would get him to my side.
"Tine, I think you sh-"
"-Please!" I begged, holding both his hands in mine. He went quiet for a second before he let out a strained breath.
"Okay, I'll get the journal." He turned around and left quickly to retrieve it.
Type had me go around through the stables, as to not arouse suspicion for Tharn. But he joined me soon after with a bag. "I've packed you some food and medicine. As well as the translations." He handed them to me, worry in his face. "Please be safe."
