Y/N's POV

I finally said those words. I wasn't sure what effect my words would have, but they definitely surprised Sho. I saw his reaction as if he didn't believe what I had just said. His pupils dilated. His breathing quickened. He looked stunned. Then he quickly recovered and took my hand. I could feel his heart beating wildly under his skin.

We stayed like that for a few minutes, looking deeply into each others eyes. Neither one of us wanted to break our gaze.

But then, Sho broke our silence.

"I love you too" his voice trembled slightly.

His voice was deep and filled with emotions, mixed together. I gently came closer to him, he brought his other hand to caress my face lovingly.

"After all this time..." his eyes were shining with happiness and determination.

"Always" I chuckled happily.

That line was from Harry Potter. As we were used to sitting at my couch and watching "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" together, I knew he got that joke already. He chuckled, too.

"Don't tease me, I haven't finish my sentence yet" he spoke laughing quietly, his hand still touching my face. He cough a little bit as laughing made him breathless. I put a hand on his chest to calm him.

"Okay okay" I giggled, giving him a teasing smile. "Go on then"

He took a sharp inhale before slowly removing his hand from my cheek. His lips curved upward slightly, forming a slight curve of the lips. He gazed deeply into my eyes. He cleared his throat and continued speaking.

"After all this time, you're finally mine" he  whispered. "The one and only Y/N".

My heart fluttered in my chest. I shivered at his tone of voice. So full of desire, and longing, and tenderness. His hand touched my jawline and tilted my face to the left slightly. He gently traced my lips.

I knew where this was leading. I felt myself turning red, heating up. I placed a delicate kiss on his lips. When I pulled away, I opened my eyes. Our eyes met and I stared at him intensely.  I smiled. I felt complete, at last. We both began leaning in again. Our noses brushed against each other. I felt his warm breath against my cheeks. Everything around us faded away. There were only us, and no one else mattered anymore.

"I'll be here. You just need to recover well" I said with a soft smile.

He smiled back at me. The corners of his lips curled upwards into a faint smirk.

"I'm sorry". He apologised.

I knew he was probably blaming himself for letting me donate blood for him. He looked as tired as I did. His skin was paler and there were dark rings under his eyes.

"No need to worry about me. Just rest" I assured him.

"It's going to be fine", I added. I was tired too, but I didn't want him to worry anymore.

"Promise me you'll get some rest?" He begged.

I nodded, smiling lightly at him. We just froze there in front of each other silently, enjoying being in the same space as each other. I looked at him, with my heart swelling in my chest. He was just like a big warm teddy bear, comforting me and making me feel safe. His hair had grown out longer these past two months, falling in waves over his forehead. I reached to tuck it behind his ear. He closed his eyes and leaned towards my touch. His eyes slowly opened again after I had finished tucking his hair behind his ear. Sho seemed to relax even more at my touch. Suddenly I just remembered the first time I saw him cried, and how  helpless and vulnerable he had been, in those moments when he couldn't cry out loud for help. And how he hugged me tightly as if  I was the only thing keeping him afloat. Now he was completely relaxed again. It made me feel better.

I guessed I was somehow successful, right?

"Uhmm,.. excuse me, did I disturb you both?", a tiny voice came from the doorway.

We were gasped a bit, breaking apart.

"Ippei, ..." I said as I turned around. If it was him, I would be so embarrassed, because everytime I had kind of romantic moment with Sho, he all witnessed it. It wasn't exactly easy being seen by him at moments like these.

But he was not Ippei. He stood there with his big frame, dreamy eyes and chiseled jawline. His revese snapback and  his black shirt gave him such an elegant look. I've seen him once or twice on the mound, practicing with Shohei. But I could not remember his name.

"Mike, you came?" Shohei  asked surprised.

"Yeah, of course. I promised you I'd come". He smiled while slowly approaching us, his hands were heavy with bags of food, as if  they weighted a tonne.

Mike Trout. I remembered now. He was one of the best players in MLB. Shohei had told me a lot of stories about him when he was training in the outfield. He seemed to be hard to  approach at first,  but he was really nice and sweet.

"You must be Y/N, Shohei always talked about you"

Mike looked at me as he put down the bags next to Shohei's bed. His facial expression was just as obviously as if he knew everything about me.

I was surprised by his question. What he meant by saying that? Did it mean that Shohei talked about me all those time? I shyly looked over at Shohei who was simply smiling shyly.

"Yes, this is Y/N." Shohei answered,  blushing a little.

"Oh, she's very pretty. Nice to meet you Y/N" Mike commented and looked straight into my eyes.

"I've never seen a woman with such beautiful eyes", he complimented me.

My whole face burned. I blushed.  I couldn't look anywhere but at my lap.

"Nice to meet you, Mike. I think that you both need private space. I'll go out for a bit, I guess." I exclaimed.

Shohei smiled softly at me. "Have some rest"

I looked at him and smiled at him gratefully. "Just stay here with him, Mike. I've gotta go now". I stood up.

"Okay, Y/N. See ya. But no goodbye kiss to Showy?" Mike winked at me and smiled.

Both me and Shohei blushed. "Thanks, Mike. You can kiss him if you want" I said while trying to conceal my shyness.

Mike smiled. "Sure"

Then I just leave the room without saying another word. When I closed the door behind me,  I exhaled deeply. I hadn't realized I'd been holding my breath until then. My heart beat rapidly inside my chest and my face felt hot. On the way to the elevator, I tried to recollect all the things that Mike had said, and how Shohei reacted to them. It made me think about what could possibly have Shohei told everyone before.  It could have been many stories. I was really curious to know. But overthinking only kills me. I would ask Sho later. Right now, I really needed some rest, so I decided to go home and sleep.

When I got home, I felt both hungry and exhausted. Today was a crazy day for me, I donated blood and now I would eat as much as possible before going to sleep. I quickly rushed to the refrigerator, grabbed the bottle of juice and a plate of cookies, I sat on the couch in the living room. I opened the bottle and took a sip of juice while looking at the TV screen. After half an hour, I suddenly heard the sound of knocking on the door.

I left the food on the table and went to open the door. When the door opened, the first thing that hits my senses is not sight, but scent. At first, when I didn't feel it, it was just a faint cool scent. It hit my nose, then all the nerves in my brain. It made me recall memories of that scent. It was familiar at first, but then it was fear. It was suffocating at first, but then it was nauseous that my whole body was numb.

Cinnamon.
