Emory's POV:

I got off the elevator to my penthouse, exhausted from a long day at the office. I kicked off my shoes and made my way to the living room where I found Nevaeh, scrolling through her laptop, sprawled on the floor, While Cadence sits on the couch, flipping through a magazine.

"Good Evening." I muttered, collapsing beside Cadence.

She looked at me and smiled. "Hey babe."

My heart skipped a beat at the petname before I saw Nevaeh looking at us. I relaxed my body and replied. "Hi baby, how was your day?"

"It was fun, hung out all day at the cafe" Cadence replied, walking over to the kitchen. "How about you?"

"Same old, same old." I turned towards Nevaeh and asked, "what about you kid?"

"Eh, just studying for finals," Nevaeh responded, closing her laptop. "But I have an idea."

"Oh no" Cadence teased, walking over to sit beside me, handing me a glass of apple juice. I smiled in thanks and took it.

Nevaeh ignored her sister and proceeded to tell us her idea. "As I was saying, let's go out to dinner to celebrate you two getting your marriage license today!"

Cadence and I exchanged glances, not really wanting to go out after the long day we both had. Nevaeh sensed our hesitancy and guilt tripped us. "Oh come on! I didn't even get to be a witness today, do this for me, pleaseeeee?"

"Yeah, that sounds like a great idea," Cadence replied, her voice a little too enthusiastic.

I joined in and agreed, "Where do you want to go?"

"Hmm, how about that fancy Italian place a couple blocks away? I've always wanted to go" Nevaeh asked, standing up.

"Sounds perfect," I chimed in, slinging my arm around Cadence's waist, wanting to treat the girls to some good italian food.

Nevaeh squealed with delight, "Great! I'll go get ready! You're the best sister-in-law Ems!" She said before running off into her room.

"I'm your only sister in law!" I shouted after her, grinning stupidly at her antics.

Cadence and I sat there for a moment before she spoke up. "Do you think we should tell her?" She asked quietly.

I turned serious, knowing exactly what she's asking, I looked at her, comsidering our options. "I don't know," I replied. "It might be better to keep it a secret even from Nev."

Cadence nodded, seemingly agreeing with me. "Yeah, you're probably right," she said. "We'll just have to pretend even at home."

Before I could reply, Nevaeh came back, trading her sweatpants for a black mini dress. "Let's go?" She asked.

"Give me five, I'll just change into something better." Cadence replied, standing up and heading towards our room. Ever since their 2nd day here, to avoid suspicion, she's been sleeping in my bed, and I'm sleeping on the couch in my room.

"You're not gonna change Ems?" Nevaeh asked, plopping down beside me.

"Nah," I replied, closing my eyes for a bit. "I'm in a suit, this is good enough."

"Fair enough."

"Mhmmm."

"I'm ready, let's go." I opened my eyes to look at Cadence and I can't take my eyes off her. I felt my mouth go dry.

The dress clung to her curves in all the right places, accentuating her long legs and slender figure. She let her hair fall naturally around her back, and the light makeup she wored only enhanced her natural beauty.
