Cadence's POV:
I stood there for a moment, my jaw clenched tightly as I fought back tears. "I'm sorry, Emory," I whispered, my gaze falling to the ground. "I don't know what came over me."
I didn't wait for a response and I walked away from Emory, my heart heavy. I knew that I had made a mistake, but I didn't know how to fix it. I had never seen her like that before, so angry and hurt. And it's all my fault.
I sat on the bed and buried my face in my hands. I left her. She called so many times, tried to make us work over the distance but I pushed her away, and now she's running from me. I have to make things right.
"I'm sorry Emory but I'm not giving up on us."

I woke up early, determined to make things right with Emory. I wanted to make it up to her. I wanted to show her how much I love her and that I'm willing to do whatever it takes to make her happy.
I got out of bed, I had learned how to cook while in Europe because I wanted to go back to Emory and surprise her with my skills. To be a better wife and partner. I wanted to show her just how much I had grown and changed.
I quickly got dressed and headed to the kitchen. I pulled out all the ingredients I needed and began working my magic. I cooked her her favorite breakfast: pancakes, eggs, and bacon.
As I cooked, I couldn't help but feel excited. I hoped that Emory would be surprised and happy when she woke up to the smell of breakfast cooking.
When I finished cooking, I set the table and waited for Emory to wake up. I poured her a cup of coffee and waited patiently as the delicious aroma of the food filled the air.
I sat down and double checked to see that everything is in its proper place, Emory walked into the kitchen, while scrolling on her phone.
"Good morning, Emory," I said, trying to sound cheery and pretend nothing ever happened yesterday.
Emory looked up from her phone and gave me a small smile. "Morning," she said, her tone cold and nonchalant.
I felt a pang of hurt inside me, but I brushed it off and gestured to the table. "I made you breakfast," I said, hoping that it would cheer her up.
Emory looked at the breakfast, but then shook her head. "Thanks, but I don't eat breakfast every Mondays and Thursdays." she said.
My heart dropped. I had put so much effort into making breakfast, but Emory was rejecting it. I tried not to let it show, though.
"Why?" I couldn't help but ask. Emory glanced at me and replied, "fasting."
"Oh, I see," I said, trying to sound understanding. "Well, maybe you can have it later."
Emory just shrugged, then walked out of the kitchen. As I watched her go, I felt a pang of sadness. I had put in so much effort to make things right, but it seemed like Emory wasn't interested in anything I had to offer.
I sat there for a moment, feeling awkward. I didn't know what to say or do to make things better. But I refused to give up. I was determined to make things right, and if it meant going above and beyond, then so be it. I just had to keep trying.
