Cadence's POV:

As we entered the penthouse, I let out a sigh of relief. It felt good to be back in familiar surroundings after our eventful day. Emory put her keys on the table just as Kieyw came bounding up to us, wagging her tail excitedly. She yipped happily as Emory scooped her up, snuggling her close.

"Hey there, little baby. Did you miss us?" Emory cooed, scratching Kieyw behind the ears.

Kieyw responded with a series of enthusiastic licks, her tiny tongue darting in and out.

I chuckled, watching the adorable scene unfold. Kieyw had been Emory's constant companion ever since she rescued her from a no-kill animal shelter. She's small but fierce, and her affectionate personality is infectious.

As we settled onto the couch, Kieyw nestled into the space between us, her tiny body warm against our legs. For a while, we just sat in quiet contentment, enjoying each other's company and the comfort of our home.

After a while, Emory moved towards our room, and I followed behind her. As Emory took off her blazer, I couldn't help but notice the way her muscles moved under her shirt. She was so fit, so strong, and it was hard not to feel a little intimidated by her sometimes. But at the same time, I found it incredibly attractive.

I struggled to unzip my dress. It was a little too tight and I was starting to feel the heat rising in my cheeks. I let out a frustrated sigh as the zipper refused to budge. Amaya was here earlier to help me put it on.

Emory must have sensed my frustration because she turned to me and said, "Here, let me help you with that." She came over to help, her warm hands tugging at the stubborn zipper. As she leaned close, I felt a sudden flash of heat race through my body, my heart beating a little faster than usual.

We locked eyes for a moment, the air between us charged with an unspoken tension. I could feel my heart pounding in my chest as I realized that I was attracted to her in a way I had never been before.

The air practically crackled with electricity, and I was acutely aware of every little movement she made. Her breath on my neck sent shivers down my spine, and I found myself leaning back into her just a little.

But as soon as the zipper was finally undone, Emory stepped back, clearing her throat. "There you go," she said, her voice strained.

I turned around to face her, feeling a little flustered. "Thanks," I said, trying to sound casual. Holding up my dress close to my chest with one arm to stop it from falling

Emory simply nodded, her eyes fixed on a spot somewhere over my shoulder. I could tell that she was just as affected by our close proximity as I was. Fuck it.

"Emory." I said breathlessly.

She turned to face me, her eyes locking onto mine. I could see the surprise in her gaze, and a flicker of something more.

Suddenly, all the tension between us seemed to snap, and I found myself closing the distance between us. My heart pounding in my chest as I lifted my face up toward hers. Our lips met, and the tension between us ignited into a blazing inferno. She responded with an eagerness that matched my own, her hand coming up to cup my face.

It was as if time stood still for a moment, and all that existed was the warmth of her lips, the softness of her skin, and the beating of our hearts. I felt as though I could stay locked in that embrace forever, lost in the all-consuming fire of our passion.

When we finally pulled back, my lips tingling and my heart pounding, I know that this is wrong but it feels so good.

We looked at each other for a moment, both of us breathing heavily, before Emory spoke.
