He felt no remorse.

Nothing.

So much so, that it scared him to think that. That he didn't care he'd now slept with other women while he was married. That he didn't care about what his wife would think.

She didn't have to know anyway - she'd had no suspicions, and if she had then she would have most certainly voiced them. Perhaps even thrown something, which seemed liable considering he'd returned home the next day to Wanda telling him about the glass that had been thrown at the wall. But Steve knew she was just - like him - drinking her problems away. Drinking to forget. So much that she hadn't really taken notice of just where he was.

Things had been neutral between them though. Well, for him at least. They were just another married couple getting through life. They had their arguments, their moments where they couldn't stay away from one another. It was like a tennis game with the ball just being batted back and forth without it dropping. But still the suspense was there. Most of the time he had been either high while he was at Bucky's or he was out doing promotion for the tour that had now begun.

The Asgard World Tour

It was going on for the majority of the year. They'd be heading all over the place and right now were halfway through the US leg of it.

Night after night, he'd drink before the show - perhaps take something to get him riled up, then it would be back to the dressing room to drink more and have a groupie or two. He wouldn't wake up until the next afternoon and then he'd do it all over again.

It wasn't just him though, the others were no better - Rocket especially was going off the rails again much to Tony's dismay, so all the media attention once again fell onto him. Steve knew it was a wonder how his infidelity hadn't come to light yet.

He was messed up. He knew that.

He wanted to stop. Wanted things to get back on track for the sake of his wife and their marriage.

But he couldn't. He was in too deep.

Hooked. So hooked that he knew it would end up killing him if he didn't stop.

Steve Rogers was the way he was because he knew that he could be. That it was expected.

Sinking back into the chair, it was just two hours before show time - and he already had no idea what state they were in let alone the day. What he did know was that currently he was enjoying getting the life sucked out of him thanks to the girl who's mouth he was inside of. What was her name? Stacey? Sally? Whatever - it was pre show prep.

"Yes...that's right..." He said, hand sliding around to the back of the girl's head so he could push himself further down her throat. Not as satisfying as his wife could give, but it would do. He needed this.

Steve was so caught up in trying to focus on his release that he didn't realise anyone had come into the room until he heard. "WHAT THE FUCK!" and quickly looked over to the door. His wife standing there looking a mixture of pain and fury.

The girl quickly released him from her mouth and got up, running out as Maggie glared at her.

"I fucking knew it..." She shook her head, her eyes glassy.

He zipped his pants up and got up. "Maggie..."

"DON'T!" She said, now grabbing the nearest thing she could find - which was a shoe - and throwing it at him. "Don't you dare try and say it's a 'mistake'! I know you've been screwing girl's for months now! I turned a blind eye in the hope you'd just sort yourself out as we were getting back on track, but it seems you think our marriage has gone to shit! Guess it has now!"

"You were pushing me away Magpie!" It hurt to even say that but she had been - he knew it still didn't excuse his actions though. Of course it didn't.

"Doesn't mean you need to push your dick down another girl's throat!" She screamed back at him, not caring who the hell heard. The whole stadium needed to know just what a cheating bastard he was. "I didn't wanna get caught up in this. I've even been going to therapy to help try and stop myself from drinking - that;s what everything brought me to! I wanted to better myself for you! Make everything ok by trying to get past what Rumlow did and just how it left me! I HAD TO GET BETTER FOR A REASON STEVE! FOR US!"

Her heart hurt. Everything was just pain inside and out.

"Maggie, I...I tried to..."

"No". She interrupted. "No - you didn't. I came here to surprise you tonight. I was missing you so much, had so much to tell you - but instead this? You doing the drugs again..." She noted the pills and other things on the table. "The women, the drink - is it worth the cost of our marriage".

"Maggie..." He couldn't say anything else.

She looked at him. "I'm done, out - I can't do this. I need to think about me".

"Maggie, please don't leave me...please..."

With a small shake of her head she said. "I need to put myself first - not just for my sake but for us...I'll be gone by the time you guys get home from the tour. Don't bother trying to contact or track me down".

"Maggie, Maggie please don't...."

Then she was gone, leaving him standing there in a drunken haze - trying to make sense that his marriage had just ended.

You didn't deserve her anyway - everyone will say it. You're better off keeping everyone happy in this instance. She doesn't want you around, and you need to sort this all out once and for all. Rehab ain't gonna cut it, even you know that - you're as deep as Rocket was... His mind chided him.

It was right. He'd fucked up. She didn't want him, everything had been his fault and had cost him greatly.

So what was one more payment?
