(Yo, I'm telling you, Shoto in this book is completely inspired by Mima Takayuki from Play it Cool, Guys)
Shoto woke up on impulse. Each day, every morning when the sun seeps through his curtains that he purposefully leaves partially open, he wakes up when it hits his face. He grunted, pushing him up to sit. He opened his right eye.
Every day, whenever he wakes up, his left eye never opens unless he puts water into it. Or if he tries really hard to open it. The heat in his left eye always stays due to the kettle incident and he's never been able to open it unless he's cooled it down.
Shoto pushed himself off the bed and he walked over to the bathroom, with only one eye open. he opened the door and stood in front of the sink, turning the tap to the cold side. He filled his hand with water and put it on his left eye. He groaned lightly when it stung a bit and his eye opened. He looked at himself in the mirror and sighed.
He pulled his shirt off and decided to go take a shower. He stood under the shower and flinched when it was too hot, he turned the tap to the cooler side and waited until the water was cold enough. And then he took a shower.
He lived in a condomonium near his family house, so each time anyone needed anything, he could go right over, it was just a three-minute drive and a seven-minute walk. And it always felt a bit weird to sleep on a bed after so many years of sleeping on a futon, but it doesn't matter anymore.
He walked out of the bathroom, a towel around his waist and he took the outfit he had neatly folded on top of the ironing table last night. He slipped the shirt on and buttoned it perfectly. He put the black slacks on, took his dark blue tie, and tied it around his collar. Shoto took his watch and saw that it was 7:08. Good thing his job only started at 8:00. It was way harder getting up during school and college.
The bad thing is that his job ends at 4:00, which makes it eight hours of work. At least there's nap room though. Shoto smiled, putting the watch on his wrist. He really liked that nap room. He opened the curtain, squinting his eyes a bit when the sun hit his face directly.
He stood in front of the mirror, parting his hair perfectly with a comb. He didn't like it much if the two colors of his hair fell together. (Nope, it doesn't naturally get parted, of course, the has to do it)
Shoto took the folder that laid on his table and walked out of his bedroom.
It'd be a waste to cook right now, speaking as Shoto couldn't cook much. Well, might as well buy something from the convenience store on the way. "I'll be going now," he mumbled and walked to the main door and took his car key. His bare foot came across the cool oakwood floor as he made it to the main door's corridor.
Shoto got out of the house, went to the ground floor, and drove his car to his work stopping by a convenience store to get his so-called 'breakfast' that contained fried tuna in a can, cooked rice in a can, cheese(which he didn't eat since he hated cheese), juice, and muffins.
He got to work and parked his car in the parking lot. He stepped out of his car and walked over to the building. The second he stepped in he could feel a few eyes on him. For a moment, everything went silent.
It wasn't like he didn't know that he was popular at his job. One of the reasons things have been quite obvious is that many men keep telling him he stole the girl they like. Even a few girls have said to him that for the guys they like or for the girls they like. So he knew he was popular. It's just that he wanted to pretend he didn't know
It wasn't like he wanted to be popular with women, it made him uncomfortable...to say the least. To have the eyes of people he didn't find endearing to be laid on him made him upset. He looked from the corner of his eyes and saw a woman staring at him, up and down.
