The scream that ripped from Hawks' throat made Dabi shiver with excitement, wind tugging at their clothes as they started to plummet through open air.

This wasn't the first time Dabi purposefully hurled himself off the side of a building that would surely kill him if he hit the ground. Frankly, the first time, he didn't have Hawks to catch him.

That was a story for another time, a thought for later. Right now he had a bird to mock.

"Come on!" Dabi yelled through the blur of air forcing through them. Hawks gripped the villain with a vice tight grip. "Spread those wings!"

His eerie grin tugged at the staples at the corners of his mouth, stretching wide in sadistic glee at Hawks' utter terror.

It looked like hawks was reliving the same memory Dabi had thought of from his own perspective.

His wings flailed against the harsh biting plummet, stretching out to their full length in a desperate attempt to slow the fall. Over the days of no hero work, they had grown and grown, no feathers being used. They were the biggest either man has ever seen them.

"Come on Hawksie!" Dabi laughed, cackling as Hawks held onto him desperately.

With one harsh push of Hawks' wings, their fall finally halted slightly, still descending but under a controlled pace. Dabi's humored laughter was paired with grim horror.

"N-never do that again!" Hawks screamed, hoarse voice cracking. The genuine desperation in his vocal cords almost made Dabi laugh harder. "Are you s-suicidal or something?!"

The way Hawks said that word made it seem like another word for heartbreak. His tone quivered, face grimacing with a trembled lip.

"So what if I am?" Dabi's howl settled into a stifled chuckle.

The horror that crossed Hawks' expression almost made him burst into more laughter but he refrained for the sake of they were nearing the ground. He's rather the two not be too loud. Frankly the environment was barely lit up by the moon, so the night was still young. He doubted too many people would be troubling the streets at this hour.

Hawks set them down in the back shadows on the roof of a parking garage, dropping Dabi and immediately distanced himself a little.

This, this was a bad sign.

"Oh cmere little Hawksie. Ya did great~" Dabi trapped him in an embrace, curling an arm around his waist and pulled him in close. "Did it feel good to fly again~?"

The look of panic plastered on the hero's face made it hard for his lips not to screw into a wry smile, but he fought the urge, keeping his expression as gentle as a scar ridden expression could handle.

"Dabi-" It came out as a sharp gasp, hands gripping at his shirt. The villain could see how Hawks' breathing became shallow, frantic. "-don't do that again. Fucking please."

Dabi took his hands in his own, not being able to resist the urge to taunt. He gently leaned him back against his arm, pulling him in closer against his body, dipping his body away as if at the end of some dance. They were backed by the moon.

"What?" His lips moved slow, watching, digging into the winged hero's expression as the words slipped out. "Ya got a friend who took a nose dive before?"

The way Hawks' eyes glossed over, mouth partially opening to say something, but instead stayed mute in a sheer grief ridden silence.

Oh gods.
