Dabi's void filled sleep was rudely interrupted by firm knocking on his door and Hawks jumping three feet off his lap in startle.
"Your presence is requested in a meeting with the boss." The person—easily recognizable as Mr Compress—called though the flat. "I will be filling in to watch Hawks."
Dabi felt the hero clutch as his shirt immediately at this news, looking at him with begging eyes that screamed 'please don't fucking leave me alone with him.'
"Give me a minute." Dabi called, shifting in the bed to address the winged hero's fears.
"Please." He begged in a whisper, looking up at him, eyes wide and pupils pinpricks.
"Hey," the villain took Hawks into his arms, pulling him against his chest gently to comfort. He could feel the anxious heartbeat thrumming against his own body. "Calm down. Ya don' even have to see him. Jus' don' leave the flat, can ya do that for me, birdie?"
The hero hugged him tighter, "But he could come in here and he could—"
"I'll tell em that he needs to stay outside." Dabi directed a hand through his golden hair, "I jus' need ya to stay inside. Can ya do that?"
He breathed in once, holding it for a few seconds before exhaled. "I-I can. I can stay here."
"Good little Phoenix~" Dabi purred, getting up, letting Hawks rest on the bed.
He started to tug off his shirt upon standing, ignoring the squeak of embarrassment from the hero behind.
Dabi may have put a little bit of tease in to the strip, slowly undoing his belt, metal clinking together. He felt the stare on his back, it made him smirk.
Hawks was simply too adorable to not play with.
He slid off the belt and moved to his wardrobe, tugging a new shirt off a hanger, throwing that on before dropping his pants, getting a new pair, lacing the belt through the loops before securing it.
"Be back in at most an hour. Feel free to eat." He hummed, looking back to the hero who had pink dusted across his cheeks, fiddling with a red feather. Dabi smiled at the sight, a smug sense of pride in his expression. "Be good for me~"
"O..okay." The mumble was quiet, but Dabi heard.
He took that cue to leave the room, closing his bedroom door behind him so Hawks had the privacy to do whatever he wanted.
Dabi opened the front door, seeing the masked villain leaning against the wall patiently.
"No going inside, ya freak him the fuck out." The scarred man chuckled, closing it behind him. "But if he does try to slip out, keep him in the pearl till I get back."
"He hyperventilates in the pearls." The villain hummed. "He may suffocate himself if he's stuck for that long."
"I didn't ask." Dabi walked away.
The villain opened the door to their conference room, looking inside to see a Shigaraki, Kurogiri, and Twice. They sat around a longer meeting table except for the Misty Mama who stood, reminiscent of s butler, by a projector.
"Dabi, nice for you to hurry your slow ass down here. You were only fifteen minutes late this time." Shigaraki growled, tearing at his neck with his nails.
"I think that's my new high score." He chuckled, sitting down in a random chair.
"Report?"
"For as much as ya guys fucked him up for the ransom video, he became unresponsive for a while when he first woke up, then he was just kinda fine. Took him to the roof, made out-" Shigaraki fake gagged. "-and he was doin' good. We went back down and fell asleep."
