"C'mon. 'M done smokin."
The hero pried himself from his ball on the floor, this command being issued upon Dabi noticing that Hawks had started to nod off.
"'M not gunna bring ya back down to that cell, but you gotta behave. Ya've been a good birdie so far, don't change on me." Dabi hummed as they walked through the various halls, Hawks trailing behind sleepily.
"Mhm.." he hummed in acknowledgement, clutching his own wing as if it was a pillow or something.
After a few moments of walking, Dabi got to a door with various burn marks around the handle, the metal of the handle itself warped lightly from being melted.
It was probably a miracle that the damn thing was still on it's hinges considering it was clear that this was Dabi's place.
The door was opened by the villain, the man himself walking through without a care in the world.
Hawks took a curious glance around as they stepped in. Surprisingly, it was like his own miniature apartment. There was a small kitchenette, living room, and three doors along the back wall.
One was partially open, showing some baskets for linens and storage. The other door which was wide open seemed to be a bathroom with a shower in the back. There wasn't a tub. Then the third door was shut. Hawks could easily guess that it was a bedroom though.
"Make yerself comfortable." Dabi—Japan's top arsonist-murderer—urged him to make himself at home.
So, Hawks did.
He timidly sat on the couch, bringing his knees to his chest so he could cocoon himself in his wings. It was just comfortable, he did it often.
Between the alcohol, the adrenaline rushes, and just, yaknow, being kidnapped, Hawks felt fucking exhausted.
As soon as he took on his balled up form, he passed out.
Dabi walked back to his mini living area, partially surprised to see Ke- Hawks. already curled up, fast asleep.
Hawks. Hawks. That was his name
Dabi literally couldn't afford to slip up with that name, god damn it.
He sighed and took a seat next to the red sphere of feathers, cracking open a ginger-ale can. He didn't feel like drinking right now, but something fizzy sounded nice on his dry ass throat.
Dabi hadn't had to take a smoke break for a long time but damn, Hawks was really pushing his luck. First they kiss outside, making Dabi's body heat unstable. Then he makes him mad, which makes the control of his quirk unstable.
Then Hawks enters a subspace; basically a mental state where he almost fully enters bird mode, cooing and clicking, looking for comfort—and he chooses Dabi as a suitable source of comfort and starts to curl up against him.
Shigaraki laughed his crusty ass off so hard his lips cracked.
Dabi practically choked on the flames that billowed in his chest, yes literally, and had to bring them outside. He had to smoke three cigars just to calm the heat down, choking down the flames inside with smoke.
It was purely by accident did Dabi find this little trick. Whenever he lost control of his quirk, he'd just drink a lot of water to try and die the flames down. It'd just make his mouth steam. He realized if he stopped feeding it oxygen and choked the flames with nicotine it helped.
