When Daryl got into the truck, he didn't say anything, and I turned away from him so he couldn't see my face, trying to keep my sobs as quiet as possible. After a while I calmed down, I watched as we passed the trees.

   "You good?" Daryl asked awkwardly.

   "Yeah," I lied.

   "Bullshit."

"Fine. No, I'm not good. Happy?" I snap.

"Yeah," He snaps back. "You did what you could," He said softer. I ignored him. If only I could have gotten the infection down... maybe he would still be in the RV, and we would get to the CDC, and he would be alive. Daryl sighs.

"This is gonna be a long drive," He whispers. He was right, with no conversation, the six-hour drive felt more like twenty.

When we got to the CDC, the sun was setting. We drove past hundreds of bodies, the smell was horrible, I groaned as I covered my mouth. When we stopped, we didn't grab our bags, only guns and knives, we needed to make sure it was secure before we got things that could slow us down.

"Alright, everybody. Keep moving. Go on." Shane kept saying over and over again.

"Keep moving, come on," Rick said. Daryl and I were behind everyone making sure we wouldn't get ambushed from the back. Everyone was whispering, and shushing each other, making more noise than needed. When we got to the doors, the shutters were down. Shane banged on the door.

"So much for staying quiet," I whisper yelled at Shane, he glared at me and hit them again. I rolled my eyes and looked around again, pointing my gun where my eyes went.

   "There's nobody here." T-dog said.

"Then why are these shutters down?" Rick stated.

   "Walkers!" Daryl shouted.

"Good job Shane, look what you did!" I yelled at Shane, and I turned and shot a Walker that got too close.

"You led us into a graveyard!" Daryl yelled at Rick.

"He made a call." Shane yelled back.

"It was the wrong damn call!" He yelled again.

"You would have made the same call! Shut up and shoot!" I shout, and raise my gun again, shooting a Walker that got to close to T-dog when he wasn't looking.

"Where are we gonna go?" Jacqui asked fearfully.

"She's right. We can't be here this close to the city before dark," Lori asked her voice wavering.

"Fort Benning, Rick... still an option," Shane said.

"Okay stop, everyone shut up." I yelled, and everyone listened. I walked in front of Rick, making him look into my eyes so I know I have his attention. "Fort Benning is an option, but it's a hundred miles the other way, we can't stay here. We can go and camp out somewhere for the night, but not here. What are we doing?" I ask him. He shakes his head.

"We'll think of something." He says, and I nod my head.

"Come on, let's go. Let's get out of here, let's go," Shane said, trying to pull Rick away. Ricks head snaps to a camera, high on the wall.

"The camera... it moved." Rick said.

"You imagined it." Shane denied and tried to push and pull Rick to get to the cars. I started walking with the majority of the group, fending off the Walkers.

"It moved. It moved!" Rick kept saying.

"Rick, it is dead, man. It's an automated device. It's gears, okay? They're just winding down. Now come on!" Shane said but Rick wasn't listening. I walked over to Rick and grabbed his face and tilting it down to me.
