* Kipp's POV *
Holding Luce's hand has dredged up some memories. My father was never really in my life, he was immature, you'd think my mother married a sixteen-year-old. Because of his constant immaturity and leaving, this caused my mother to be incredibly insecure, it did not help that she was also chronically bipolar, I know she couldn't help it, but I was a victim of her emotional roller coasters. I love her more than my father though. My father's last name is Hemmings, but I chose Kipp's instead.
I bet you, the non-existent reader of my mind is wondering why holding a beautiful, caring, talented, amazing girl's hand would dredge up those memories, but it reminds me of my mother before.
Before my father stopped growing, they had a pretty good relationship. See, they were both Fittes agents then had me when they were both fifteen. When I was nothing but a wee little guy, just barely a toddler, I remember my mom's long, beautiful, ginger hair. Lucy's hair reminds me of it. It's not really ginger, per say, it's a mix between chestnut, ash brown, and ginger. When my dad stopped growing and started leaving, that's when my mom went and dyed her hair blue. It looked so very blue in the sunlight, but really, it was a pale green. Every time my dad came back, she started losing her composure over her emotions, she'd cry, and cry, while my dad held her, then she'd get out the scissors and cut her blue hair off.
See, every time she cut it off, she grew in a way. My dad never did, and he finally got sick of her maturing, so he left forever when I was twelve, to go be with an incredibly young agent or such. That left my mom shattered, with no way to work, and my father completely denying our existence and instead causing the same problems with who knows how many other women, that left me to provide for us and care for my mom.
The most peaceful thing I think I've experienced in a long time was falling asleep on Luce while holding her hand. Was I, Quill Conan Kipps actually falling?
