Light paced back and forth on top of the Rainbow Kingdom's front wall. Underneath his feet were the stones that built up the wall and imbedded into those stones laid the large metal gate. The large iron gates closed due to the recent attack of the Yellow Kingdom with a few extra guards stationed in front of the gate and right behind it as well. Besides the ones stationed inside of the Rainbow Kingdom, the rest of the Colorless Guards were over at the Yellow Kingdom, helping in their own ways.
Of course, Light wasn't stupid enough that he let so many leave that they couldn't properly protect the Rainbow Kingdom. Who knows if that is what Void was planning with the attack. Draw all the Guards away and then swoop in for the kill. All the Steves knew how much Void despises the Rainbow Kingdom above all the others and Light wouldn't put it past him to do something like that.
Light glanced at the horizon, scanning it slowly. Light could stop checking every few minutes, even though the guards on duty next to him would raise notice if one of the spotted someone on the horizon.
The three Colorless Guards that were posted there either watched with mild apprehension or stared straight ahead, too afraid to even glance at him. Light continued to pace, hands twitching to mess with his spear, but he didn't need to accidentally hit one of his own guards by accident.
Each minute, each hour that passed by without a sign of Sabre anywhere had anxiety slowly settling and eating away in his stomach. His entire body demanded rest after the day he had, but he sure wasn't going to go to sleep until Sabre was seen by someone.
Light could picture it clearly in his head. The sun setting, reds and purples and blues blending with one another, and Light would see a shadow in the distance or maybe one of the guards would. Someone, anyone, would stop Sabre on the horizon.
Sabre would run up, probably out of breath and covered in dirt, with apologies falling off his lips along with questions of if everyone was alright. He'd then go and explain what happened, exaggerating certain parts of the story with even more exaggerated movements, hoping to make them laugh and ditch their worry.
Light could already imagine Green Leader's disappointed look pointed at both of them when Light would eventually drag Sabre to Green just to make sure he was okay. Sabre, for running into a fight after the fiasco with Soulless, and Light, for not resting when he was sent back to the kingdom to do just that.
In Light's defense, he did try.
After Green Leader found Light and Lucas helping organize Steves to help rebuild —Lucas oddly knowledgeable about the best ways to construct a house— Green quickly sent them both back to the kingdom to rest.
Lucas finally got to see his place and get a small tour, before promptly seemingly passing out once his body met the guest's bed.
Well, Lucas' bed now, if he still planned on staying with Light. They didn't really talk much about that, before Sabre began dragging Lucas all around the kingdom.
