|🤫-3 Months Later-🤫|

|😲-Y/n's POV-😲|

I stretched as I woke up in Camilo's bed. He'd already left by the time I woke up, so I quickly got changed and left the room.

Instantly, I heard hushed whispered from somewhere nearby.

I followed them and saw two people hiding in front of Bruno's door.

"Dolores? Is everything okay?"

Her and Mariano jumped. "Sorry, we were just..." They looked at eachother.

"I'll go." Mariano said, quickly giving his girlfriend a kiss goodbye.

"Dol? What's wrong?"

"I... um... we... I'm..." She looked up at me. Her eyes were red and puffy, although she'd tried to hide it.

At last, she whispered.

"I can't tell you."

"Are you sure? Is it something to do with Mariano? Is he hurting you?"

"No, no, it's not that, I just... I'm not ready to tell anyone."

"Oh. That's okay. Just remember I'm always here to listen to you. And I'm a good secret keeper." I flashed her an awkward smile.

She tried to smile, only making tears brim in her eyes.

"Do you wanna come down to breakfast with me?"

"You go, I need to clean myself up."

I smiled again and headed down. Camilo and the majority of the family were already seated outside.

I took the space beside my boyfriend.

"Hey, do you think Dolores has been acting... off, lately?" I whispered.

"Not that I noticed, why?"

"Just now, her and Mariano were talking and she seemed upset."

He looked worried, then angry. "Is he hurting her?"

"I don't think so. He looked more worried about her than angry with her."

"Have you asked her?"

"She said she couldn't tell me."

"Family!" Abuela interrupted. "I wanted to talk to you about the preparation for- Dolores, are you alright?"

The girl had just stepped out of the house. Now that I saw her in full light, she looked pale and ill.

She nodded. "Yes, thank you." She whispered with a hoarse voice.

Just as she was about to sit down, I heard a strange retching sound nobody else noticed. I looked at her to find she had her hands covering her mouth. She had sweat dripping down her face, despite it not being particularly warm.

Just as she looked me, her hands fell and she vomited. I quickly managed to stand up and catch it in a bubble of water.

I ran around the table to her. "Dol, what's happened? Are you sick?"

"I can't tell you here."

"Dolores! Do you need an arepa, querida?" Pepa asked, at her side already.

She shook her head. "I think I need to go bed."

"I'll take her up." I volunteered.

"Good idea. Dolores, are you sure you don't want some food to make you feel better?"

She shook her head, hands over her mouth once more.

I linked arms with her and guided her up to her room.
