Ayano and Amai sat awkwardly in the dinner table, silence filling in the room. Yet Amai still cracked a smile.

"I've been meaning to ask, Ayano-chan. Where are your parents?" Amai asks. "They're overseas." Ayano replied.

Amai shifted awkwardly. "Oh.. so you take care of yourself then? That must be hard."

"I manage." Awkward silence filled the room again. Amai took a bite of her food. "Mm~ your cooking is so good Ayano-chan!" Amai beamed softly.

"Its not that good.." Ayano muttered, causing Amai to giggle. "Ehehe, well, it's still very skillful! You're very good at cooking Ayano-chan, I wonder why you didn't join my club sooner?"

"Ah.. it's just not my personal cup of tea..." The girl replied, Amai nodded in response .

"Ayano-chan, maybe we should do this more often if you're not that busy.. y'know.. to get to know each other more?" She smiled sweetly.

"Sure."

Though the whole interaction was a bit awkward and silent, Amai felt a sense of happiness inside her. Happy to finally spend some time with Ayano.. she doesn't know why she wants to.. but she's glad she got to.

...

"Hey, Yan-chan?" Osana asks me. I hum in response. "You... You like Taro-senpai, don't you?" She asks. Not looking directly at me but focusing on the legendary cherry tree on the ground as she leaned over the rooftop railing.

"You don't have to lie." She continued. I sigh. "Yes.. was it really that obvious?" I ask. Slowly making my way closer to her. Osana nodded. "Ahaha, thought so.. i-.. I wish you luck then.. y'know.. when you confess." Osana muttered, sounding sad.

It was obvious that she was sad that senpai rejected her, and me liking him despite being her so called friend. It was pathetic, but I couldn't care less.

"Do you want to know more about him?" Osana asks, smiling tiredly at me. I nod.

She tucked her hair behind her ear before facing me. "When me and Taro grew up together, he was really nice and caring. He was cheerful and his parents are nice people aswell. It was obvious that he and his little sister Hanako was having a good life.." Osana muttered, chuckling to herself a little.

It was like she was going down on memory lane and remembering all the fun things in her past. She seemed happy, yet at the same moment filled with sorrow.

"He's an amazing person.. I can tell.." I muttered. Trying to not say more things about Senpai than what Osana wants to hear. "So I assume that's how you gained feelings for him?" I add.

"Well, sorta. yea, he was a good kid. But once we reached middle school, he began to get distant. We didn't connect to each other again until highschool." She sighed.

"Oh? And why's that?"

Osana looks at me. "Well he was bullied and harrassed severely when he was in middle school. I tried helping him but he just pushes me away.. but I hope you don't get a bad image of him! He just.. didn't want to involve me in bullying too.." Osana muttered. I would never feel sympathy for anyone.. mostly just pity... But after hearing that I.. I feel really bad for senpai.. don't worry senpai! I'll treat you good!!

"but now it's happening to me.." Osana whispered. I was too busy thinking about Senpai that I didn't hear fully what she said. "What was that?" I ask.

She shakes her head. "N-nothing!.. anyways.. I'm not sure if Hanako knows, but if she does, I guess that's why she's always clingy.. or maybe it's a whole other reason.." Osana muttered.
