Most of the things I conjure up from thin air, like the bed, the covers, the dresser, the mini fridge, (I now have two squirrel generators, and an energy storing unit) and every thing except the meat, (which you CAN'T conjure up apparently) and the clothes. I move some clothes into the new dresser, hunt a bit, bring back left overs, and get settled in. I'm a little hungry so I get a blood pack from the mini fridge. It's gone in a minute. hhhmmm. My hunger is growing. I'll have to keep an eye on that. I can see the whole street from the window. That's weird. There's a moving truck at the neighbor's house. oh yes! The thieves are moving!!! I wonder who will move into their place. I'll keep an eye on that too. In my own backyard, I see the boys building a fire. I wonder who's shoes they'll burn next, so I wait and see. They have... MY BRAND SPANKING NEW RAINBOW HIGH TOPS!!!! I'm so going to find my BB gun and personally shoot whoever stole my shoes in the butt hole!!!! I race out of the tree and I appear out of no where in front of Colby, the one HOLDING my shoes, grab him by the collar, and demand "Now what in blazes do ya think you're doin with my new shoes?!?!" He looks at me with MY famous deer in the headlights look and it ticks me off even more. I feel energy in my eyes change, and he's right near my face. His fake fear turns incredibly real all too quickly and now I'm shaking with anger and impatience. He drops my shoes and starts stuttering. I put him on the ground, only to push him 5 yards backwards with his feet never leaving the ground, pinning him to the building behind us. By now the only sound that can be heard is our very unsteady breathing, only from different causes. Every one is watching us. Colby finally finds his voice. He looks and whispers "What in the devil's name are you?" I swear, I can almost see the whites of his eyes as he looked at me in horror and my eyes change to an unnatural color of - I don't know, black, I guess - and now it's his turn to shake, only with fear. I feel that familiar feeling in my eyes as I come to my senses and my eyes change back. I release him with a questioning look of confusion upon my face. Shoes can't possibly be strong enough to do that to a person, now can they? No. I didn't think so. I give in. I have to tell him, so he'll understand. I say "Screw it and follow me." I lead him to my treehouse and lock the door behind me. When he isn't looking, I fly out a window and lock the outside lock too. I fly back in and go to the living space where he awaits, obviously still scared out of his mind. I begin with the explanation, because after all, he does deserve one. "Look. No one can know about this place, or about me, so I'll just cut to the chase. but first, do you want me to sugar coat anything?" He shakes his head "no" at me, so I continue. "I'm a vampire hybrid." He just looks at me like he just saw me riding a Blue Whale down the street as if it were a horse. I give him one of those "Really?!?! Really?!?!" Looks and walk over to the mini fridge. "question, are you scared of blood?" He shakes his head no, so I open the fridge and bare my fangs. He turns ghost white and almost faints. I guess the fangs plus the blood was a bit too much. Geez, what a marshmallow! I put my fangs away and escort him to one of the many empty guest bedrooms (when I set my room up I also set up all the other rooms too, except for the clothes) and let him sleep on it for a while. Meanwhile, I'm letting myself indulge in another blood pack after going a little off my rocker and being forced to tell him my darkest secret ever. This time it's in a cup. I'm politely taking a sip when Colby walks in, still looking a little weak. His scent immediately makes me take in more blood from the straw. My throat is killing me with this burning desire. He looks at me quizzically and says "Is that blood?" I must answer truthfully. "If you have ta know, yea." I give him a small smile and he flinches. I must still have leftovers on my teeth. "I'm sorry about earlier. I just sometimes lose control at the mercy of my own anger, and you're lucky to still be human. I could've bitten you long ago, but I didn't. Don't that outta tell you something, Mr. Burnin' Shoes?" That is my apology and excuse, so don't judge me. I take another sip. His blood, his scent, is mouth watering. My throat is burning from the inside out. I guess animal blood doesn't hold a candle stick to human blood. He notices my staring at his neck before I realize that I'm doing it. I snap out of it quick, but it's already too late. He's noticed. "Look man, if you go off runnin' your mouth, we'll both face consequences. You'll face becomin' dinner, and I'll face a hunk o' wood through me. Is that what you want? I didn't think so." He is sooo mouth watering! My throat is on fire!!! Holy FRIJOLES!!! Who shoved ghost pepper down my throat without my noticing?!?! I begin to notice my stare is again drifting to his neck, where it seems to rest every time. I can't stop it. I have no will to move my eyes from his veins. They look that good. It's maddening. He now looks scared, and finally I can move my eyes. Strangely, he comes closer, making me insane with hunger. I ask "What are you doing?" And he replies "Getting closer. I can't very well let you get a drink from over there." I look at him like he's a madman asking if a shark can please tear him to shreds. "Are you insane? Suicidal? Trying to get yourself killed? I'm already insanely hungry, and you want to add to the temptation? I don't know how well of a grip I have on my will power." his only response is "I don't care. Take it." He closes in, driving me past insane. He's right in front of me now, bending his neck at the perfect angle. I can't help it. I tackle him, pining him against the tree and biting into his neck, pure joy spewing out of me. It seems to be coming from him, too. I can taste the pleasure in his blood. his heartbeat is going really fast, so I force myself to slow down. It's the most precious taste ever to touch my tongue. His heartbeat is declining, so although it takes much will power, I release his neck from my jaws, allowing his blood to trickle down my chin and his neck. I lick what I can off my chin, and then I walk over to him. I explain "There's still blood on your neck from where I let go." He cranes his neck to let me remove the excess from his neck. I can already feel a bond growing, and I remember what happens between a vampire and a bitten human when not turned. I now have a human slave. oops! Oh well. One simple command. I say aloud "Never tell anyone what I am and what happened here today, or where we currently are." He doesn't seem to mind not telling anyone. Good. I lead him back to the house where he passes out into an unconscious heap onto a bed. The evidence from our little encounter have vanished because vampire wounds heal pretty quickly. "Goodnight Colby." I whisper as I leave the room, smiling at him affectionately, which is very weird, then again, I also just drank my first douse of human blood, so, go figure.
