chapter 16. Base of Operation part 2

I head to the river bright and early the next morning. Kate, Dallon, and Colby aren't pleased at all. Luke is there waiting on us, and I hand him my notebook, turning straight to the page of interest. He seems to like the plan a lot. We explain the situation in full detail to the rest of the group, and everyone aside from Kate seems to love it. It seems that the only reason Dallon is on board with the plan is because he thinks the new life would be more interesting than his own boring human one. Colby is willing to follow me anywhere. At the moment, the task at hand is to gather as many supporters as possible and to gather materials for a new construction site.He hands me some scared scrolls and explains everything for the transformation. I use a spell to change my group's physical appearance for the time being. We have 2 weeks to get everything ready. we head back to the house to eat, happy.

LUKE'S POV

Two days ago, I was by the river with a few of my buddies trying to figure out what we were going to do about our situation. Our alpha was about to eliminate all wolves who even remotely had contact with humans within the region and any humans who had tried to speak to us. This all started when she had killed my girlfriend last year. I had fell in love with a human, and was forced to keep it secret. Alpha found out and killed her. From that moment on, I decided that I was gonna put an end to this "no humans" nonsense. Up until this point I had done little more than bring shame to my mother and be labeled as a rebel for practicing human activities. That was until a new alpha female came to town. God, she was beautiful, but she had her heart set on a human. I was not about to intrude. She seemed so worried that we would jump her and her little group at any minute. Then I noticed the hair dye. I watched them to see how to apply it, then offered her my alliance in exchange for a box of my own. This I knew would infuriate alpha. Last night she had told me to meet her at the river to discuss a secret plan that she said would benefit us both. I agreed eagerly. I just met her and her little family again. She grew up way too early. She's younger than me, and already she's the caretaker of 3 teenagers, 2 of which are older than her. They obey her, and although I can tell it's from the vampire bond, they are completely reliant on her leadership. She will make an amazing alpha. I had come across some ancient scrolls when away from the pack after alpha killed my beautiful Bea. I gave them to the new potential alpha so that the plan can succeed. My new job is to find recruits. I head back to the pack grounds. I meet up with Ethan and Andrew and tell them about what's going on. I've known them my entire life. We were together when I met Bea. They had relations with her human friends as well. the guys were just as thrilled as I had been. I'm 17, Ethan is 15, and Andrew is 16. They're all ready. We've gotten all of the teenagers on board by the end of the first week.

a week later

I take the group over to the new alpha's house, only her and her boyfriend coming outside. She shows us blueprints and points us to a pile of building supplies. The tree house is at the exact center, a very large enclosure around it, 3 stories tall and 100 feet on all sides. An archery range, a training station, a weapons arsenal, lookout stations,a magic range for beginners and practitioners, and large gates on the border of the grounds. This is our new base. The inside includes an infirmary, many bedrooms, a mess hall, ect.,. Between the 20 werewolves, the alpha, and later on when they were sure we posed no threat, the children, we completed the entire base by the time the second week was up. She even had witches on the premises.

Cheyenne's POV

I make 23 transformation potions using wolf's bane, holy water, a bit of my blood, spring water, a sprig of holly, and nightshade. I lead Luke and his group, Kate, Dallon, and Colby to the magic range under the light of the half moon. At the stroke of midnight, everyone makes a cut on their hands, drips the blood into the potions, and shakes the vials. I recite the words from the ancient text perfectly and instruct them all to drink their potions. Everyone begins to turn at once. The next instant, 23 wolves stand before me, completely ready to follow my lead. I instruct them to phase back, and then stand 23 red eyed "humans". I smile knowing that the spell had been successful. We all phase and hunt together for the first time as a pack with me leading. It's beyond exhilarating. After the hunt we all eat at the base and I put a force field around the base making it inaccessible to anyone who isn't invited inside and invite everyone from the new pack. I'm finally valued and have a family who accepts who and what I am, not to mention I now have 20 new spies for the upcoming war when their original alpha realizes their mutiny. I wonder how long it'll take.
