HUGE GENERAL TRIGGER WARNING THIS STORY IS BRUTAL COMPARED TO MY OTHER SHIT IM SORRY

Getting close with König felt like the best thing you could ever have done. As long as he was standing beside you, no one would fuck with you. You went from having recruits always bitching at you, to having them holding doors for you. He was like a huge guard dog.

The only downside to König being so protective of you was that he always argued about missions. He wanted to be with you always, and he had serious issues letting you go out by yourself.

You were sitting outside on a bench with him that night. He had just gotten done explaining how his day was when you scooted closer to him.

"König," you spoke calmly, "I need to tell you something. You won't be happy about it." You tried your best to keep yourself steady.

"What is it, y/n?" König asked, concern painting his eyes.

You took a deep breath. "I'm going on a solo mission tomorrow. It's in and out, simple. Retrieval shit. I'm going to be safe and I'll have one of the K-9s with me. The entire mission should take less than a day." You spoke quickly, unintentionally.

König furrowed his eyebrows. "I'll go with you." His voice was stern, you liked that. "To make sure everything goes smoothly."

"No. You need to be here. A lot of new guys are coming in soon, they need training." You tried to justify your thinking.

He frowned below his mask. "Horangi can train them." His rebuttal made sense, shit.

"Fine, König. Talk to our officer about it. It's not like I don't want you to go; trust me, I do." You were talking slower now. "It's not up to me."

König sighed. "When do you leave tomorrow?" You could tell he was planning something, but you didn't have the energy to question it.

"Before sunrise." You were monotone. "It's a bit early for me, but I'll manage." You tried to smile. You wanted to joke with him, to make him feel better about it.

His silence worried you. "Can we go to bed? I'm fucking exhausted." You said, dramatically yawning. You stood up, stretching.

"Ja." You could tell he was deep in thought as you both walked. His anxiety had to be getting the best of him. König was picking at his hands enough to make blood drip down.

It wasn't till you got to your room that you noticed his hand. "Fuck, König." You gasped, grabbing his hand. "Let me wrap this for you. You can come in while I get ready for bed, yeah?"

He nodded his head yes.

You both stepped into the room, you pushed him toward the bed. He was actively making sure his hand wouldn't get blood on anything.

While you wrapped his hand, you kept telling him about the mission. "I can ping my location to you when I get there, if it would make you feel better." You were being exceptionally gentle with his hand.

"I want you to do that. Make sure the tracker on your K-9 is on too." His voice was stern. "What weapons are you bringing?" You could hear the paranoia in his voice.

"Two knives, rifle. And I know about keeping the K-9 tracker on, I'm not stupid." You didn't take offense to him making sure you remembered.

König looked remorseful. "I don't think you are stupid, I just want you to be safe."
