Red POV

I found myself sitting at the dinner table with my friends, engaged in a discussion about the plan to lure Aubrey to the library without her usual entourage. Xavier's words echoed in my mind, and I couldn't shake off the feeling that this task was going to be challenging.

'All you have to do is lure Aubrey to the library without her henchmen'

"I don't think you can do this, Red. I've never seen her without them. It's like she takes them to shower with her. Tell me you're lonely without telling me you're lonely," Avery scoffed, glancing over at Aubrey and the twins.

Sighing, I felt the weight of the situation. The accusations against me had made my life complicated, and I had sought refuge within the group. The constant threat from werewolves and soul eaters had left me with limited safe spaces, and leaving the group was not an option.

"I don't believe it's impossible to tear them apart for at least ten minutes," I said, brushing my hair in frustration.

However, my friends shook their heads in unison, their expressions filled with doubt.

"That's bullsh*t," I muttered, placing my face on the table. I shifted my gaze to Aubrey, who was busy telling a story to the other sirens near the fountain. It was clear that their attention was elsewhere, either uninterested or perhaps intimidated by her presence.

"Or they are probably terrified of her," Dean added, contemplating the situation.

Ignoring Aubrey for the moment, I turned my attention to the twins. They might not be biological twins, but their similar appearance, clothing, and hairstyles earned them the nickname. I wondered if they had any romantic interests that could be used to distract them.

The group shook their heads, except for Jacob, who nervously played with his food. I noticed his discomfort and focused my attention on him.

"Do you have something to tell us, Jacob?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

Jacob hesitated for a moment, glancing around the table, before attempting to make an excuse to leave.

"Oh, look at the time," he said, pointing to the dark blue sky. "It's getting late, I think we should..."

Before he could finish his sentence, Avery noticed his attempt to escape and forcefully yanked him back, gripping his shoulder tightly. Jacob cried out in pain.

"Talk now!" Avery demanded, her voice filled with authority.

"You don't scare me, Witch!" Jacob spat out, struggling against Avery's grip.

"Funny you called me that, Faeboy," Avery smirked. "Ever heard of a Black Witch destroyed by a Fae? Because I've heard more stories of a Fae being eaten by a witch... alive," she whispered, moving closer to him.

Jacob froze, his eyes wide with horror. The mention of such tales left him visibly shaken.

"Fine," He finally conceded, his voice trembling. Ana couldn't help but smile in victory.

"Last term, they asked me out on a date," Jacob revealed, causing everyone's jaws to drop.

"Both of them?" Dean questioned, his eyes wide with disbelief.

Jacob nodded, his head hitting the table in frustration.

"This is great!" Ana exclaimed, a mischievous smirk playing on her lips.

"Jacob will ask them out and lure them to the library for some 'private lessons,'" she declared, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

Jacob's reaction was one of sheer terror. He looked at Ana as if she had gone mad.

"Are you nuts? You can't suggest that! They'll swallow me whole!" he protested, his voice filled with fear.

"I honestly don't see the problem here. When have you ever backed out on a free blowjob?" Ana retorted, moving closer to him.

"Right now!" Jacob declared, attempting to leave once again. But Avery swiftly grabbed his shoulder, forcing him back onto the table, causing his face to flatten like a pancake.

"You listen here, Faeboy. Unless you have a better suggestion, you're doing it. Are we clear?" Avery asserted, her grip unyielding. Jacob realized there was no escaping our plan.

"Fine, just let me go!" Jacob relented, defeated.

"Okay... Since that's settled, Jacob, get to their table and do your magic," Ana instructed, trying to inject some excitement back into the situation.

Jacob mumbled to himself for a moment before finally getting up and walking slowly toward the twins' table. My friends watched intently, hoping that Jacob would succeed in smooth-talking them. However, Aubrey seemed unwilling to give him much of a chance.

"Okay, Dean, you're next," Ana announced, shifting the focus to him. Dean immediately jogged toward Aubrey's table, taking Jacob along with him. I admired the way Jacob faked his disappointment when Aubrey declined his advances. Then, in a swift move, Jacob and Dean disappeared into the school, leaving behind a seductive wink for the twins.

*Ding!*

Ana received a message from Dean Informing the group that they were successfully heading to the library. The final piece of the plan was in motion: getting the twins to take the bait.

"I hope they fall for it," I murmured, my eyes fixed on the twins.

The group fell into a tense silence, waiting anxiously to see if their plan would work. I couldn't help but feel a mix of hope and doubt. I turned to Ana, who seemed to possess a hidden knowledge about Aubrey. Explaining how Aubrey would do anything for her followers as long they don't leave her.

"I don't know, Ana. That doesn't sound like the Aubrey we know," Dean voiced his concern.

"Trust me, it sounds very much like her," Ana replied cryptically, leaving Red and the others with more questions than answers

As expected, it didn't take long for the twins to corner Aubrey. I could hear their desperate pleas as they begged her to let them see Jacob. Aubrey hesitated for a moment, but eventually, she gave in to their demands. With reluctant steps, she followed them into the school.

"Go time, guys," I smirked, rising from my seat and trying not to draw too much attention to ourselves. Fortunately, nobody seemed to be paying us any mind, making our escape quite effortless.

Silently, we trailed behind the twins until they entered the library. We followed suit, only to find ourselves halted at the entrance, confused..

"Where did they go?" I whispered, a sinking feeling settling in my stomach. How could I have forgotten about this crucial detail?

"Give me a sec," Avery replied, her voice barely audible. She slowly crouched down, placing her hand on the floor and murmuring some words under her breath. Suddenly, dark footprints materialized on the ground, indicating the path the twins had taken.

"Woah," I exclaimed, staring at the footprints in disbelief.

"I know, right? Sadly, they won't last long. You go after Aubrey while Ana and I follow the twins. Try to stall Aubrey as much as possible until Xavier shows up," Avery instructed. Ana and I nodded in agreement before we parted ways.

I quickly sent a text to Xavier, informing him of my location. "I'm already in the library. Get here now!" I anxiously typed, hoping for a swift response. It didn't take long before his reply came.

"Already here. Don't worry, I can sense you nearby. Nice bumble gum scent," he teased, adding a smirking emoji at the end. A small smile tugged at my lips as I read his message, not questioning how he knew the specific flavor of soap I used.

With my phone safely stowed away, I focused my attention back on the task at hand. Keeping my head lowered, I followed the trail of Aubrey's footprints on the floor, getting closer to her with each step. It wasn't until I heard her call my name that I realized she had spotted me.

"Red! What the heck are you doing here?" Aubrey exclaimed, tapping her heels impatiently and fixing me with an intense gaze that seemed to drain the words from my mouth.

Xavier, this better work.
