Her father's hands kept reaching out trying to find her. She tried her best to move as far into the corner but she had officially ran out of space. When she felt her father's hand graze her forehead, she reached out her tiny arms to resist him. She must have scratched him in the process because he started cursing then reached further and grabbed her hair. She screamed as he forcibly dragged her from under the bed. She tried to remove his grip but he tightly had her hair within his fist. When she was finally from under the bed, her father still held her hair as she struggled to stand. As she slowly looked up to face him, her mother ran into the room and jumped on him. He released her hair and started to fight with her mother. She knew that she should have ran away but she was paralyzed by fear and couldn't move. She watched her parents viciously fought each other while yelling and cursing. Eventually, her father punched her mother in the face and she fell on the floor with blood pouring out of nose. He then turned back around with pure rage in his eyes and headed towards her. Still being unable to move, she felt the warmth of urine running down her legs. She knew that no matter what, that night was going to be one of the worse nights of her young life.

With her nightmare still occurring and the frightening man approaching her, Livy Marie was abruptly awaken by people shouting and barging into her bedroom. At first she was scared then confused. Her mom and aunt Harley were both talking to her at the same time but she couldn't understand a word. She was still half asleep but noticed her dad and uncle Trooper pacing in the hallway. Thank God that she wasn't sleeping naked. She then shook her head in an attempt to wake up and put her hands up signaling for everyone to stop talking.

"Wait, wait, wait! Hold up! I was dead sleep and y'all are screaming at me. What's going on?" She asked clearly frustrated.

Speaking first, her aunt immediately questioned, "Where is Mandi? Did she tell you that she was leaving?" Harley looked completely frazzled and worried about her only child.

"What do you mean where is Mandi? She's gone?" Livy Marie was confused.

"Yes. She left us a letter stating that she was leaving to make a name for herself. Where she is?" Aunt Harley demanded with tears in her eyes.

"I don't... I don't know. Maybe Los Angeles? She wants to became an actress but she didn't tell me that she was leaving," she tried to explain as her thoughts collided with each other.

The parents then started shouting among themselves while making plans to fly to LA. As they become focused on making a plan, they left her bedroom. Livy Marie instantly grabbed her phone and saw an email from Mandi. They hadn't spoken in days since their fight but she didn't think that Mandi would leave without telling her. Her anger level continued to build with every word that she read.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what I said to you and I'm sorry for leaving you but you know that only one of us could escape right now. You got college and if the choice was left up to our parents, you would have won. I couldn't take that risk. I saw an opening and I took it. I will email often but don't tell anyone where I'm at. Take care of Shailly, she really needs you and watch over my parents. My mom is going to need all of the support that she can get. Don't hate me. It was my turn to leave. I love you and miss you already.
-Mandi

Livy Marie slammed her cell on the bed and angrily stood up. Her meter of being pissed off had reached new heights. As she paced back and forth, she couldn't stop herself from entering the unstable area of her mind that housed dark thoughts.

How could Mandi leaved her in this situation with their family? How could she not even give her a fair warning? How could she be so selfish? How could Mandi betray her? Livy Marie swore that she was going to kill Mandi for doing this to her!
