"That was a lot easier than I thought." Jayden said looking over at Brian. The two boys had just finished handling the situation at the café. Maybe if the author actually knew how to write really cool fight scenes you would have gotten that part.

"Nah it's just because I'm amazing at this" Brian said while Jayden scoffed at the sight of the older flipping his non existing long hair.

"Oh please your hair is shorter than mine."

"NO ITS NOT."

"I WILL GET A TAPE MEASURE YOU OLD MAN"

"WHERE IS IT YOU IDIOT"

"MY APARTMENT"

"ACT- wait actually I've never been to your apartment."

"Really?" Jayden asked in disbelief.

"Ya, you've never taken me there."

"Probably because of my roommate".

"Doesn't he have morning classes?"

"Yeah, why?"

"Shouldn't he still be in class?"

"I don't know, I don't run a full background check on all the people around me you creep."

"Whatever. Lead the way to your probably crusty dusty musty apartment."

"YOU WISH OLD MAN" Jayden screamed while running down the street. Brian quickly chased after the boy. They were only one year apart so the older never understood why his stupid friend called him an old man.

Why are the lights on? What in the world happened? Is Kade okay? The two boys had just arrived at the apartment. They were shocked when they opened the door to all the lights on and medical supplies on the counter.

"I'm guessing your apartment isn't always like this." Brian said trying to lighten the mood and the possible assumption that someone had broken in, or Kade was dead, maybe someone got shot who knows? All he received was a glare from Jayden.

"Kade you here?" Jayden asked. Not actually yelling but definitely not in a normal tone. Brian could hear the fear in his voice. While the two boys made their way to the shared bedrooms they heard almost silent cries. Almost. It's as if someone wanted to cry. But they couldn't.

"Ka-Kade?" Jayden banged on the door " Are you okay?" As soon as this was said the cries went silent. Everything was silent. It was like this for a few minutes until Kade opened the door.

"Ayyy Jay I didn't hear you my bad." You could see he was crying. You could also a see he was trying to hide that fact.

"What happened? Are you okay?" Jayden was so confused until he realized Kade was looking at Brian in confusion. "Oh um this is Brian he's one of my friends from class."

"hi. Anyway, I have to go I'll be back." Kade pushed past Jayden. Jayden has helped Kade through some tough troubles, so seeing him keep a secret hurt him. They shared a lot of their problems with each other. It's been almost two years that they've known each other. While Kade was getting his phone and his keys, Jayden told Brian to wait in his room.

"Please tell me what's going on."

"I told you everything is fine."

"How's your friendship with Amend going?"

"He's coming to the apartment tomorrow to work on a project with me."

"What's with the bandages?" Jayden had just realized Kade had two bandages on his right cheek, a huge bandage on his right knee, and who knows how many more.

"Fell."

"Kay"

Kade walked out of the apartment. Jayden immediately walked to his room.

"What are you doing?" Brian questioned, watching Jayden pull up stuff on his computer.

"That idiot. I don't know what he's hiding, but if Amend got him involved in some deep stuff I'm going to kill him" Jayden replied forgetting Amend is someone he has to kill anyway.

"W-wait Amend Marks."

"Yea."

"YOUR TARGET?"

"Yea"

"JAYDEN"

"OH MY GOSH WHAT?"

"DO YOU EVEN REALIZE WHAT A BIG PROBLEM YOU HAVE? Your best friend/roommate/bro/kinda little brother is friends with someone you need to kill. I thought Amend was some sad loner."

"He is or I guess was. Kade saw someone spying on him and thinks he's in trouble. For some reason, he wants to be his friend so he can help. He also wants me to like fight off the bad guys or something. I don't know that kid's weird."

"JAYDEN"

"WHAT?"

"DID YOU GET CAUGHT STALKING AMEND?"

'Nah I ain't that stupid".

"THEN WHO WAS IT?"

"I DON'T KNOW"

"This is bad. Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

"I was going to at the café but then that whole robber incident happened, and I forgot."

"This is such a-" Brian was interrupted.

"Okay, shut up for a few seconds. I was able to get the college's security cam footage." Although Brian was offended he looked at the cam footage with Jay. They eventually got to the part where Kade got beat up by Rachel's incompetent boyfriend. Jayden was furious. Why wouldn't Kade tell him about this? Why wouldn't he tell him Rachel went to the same school? He got up so fast that his chair flung back, almost hitting Brian.

"Where are you going?" Brian asked following after the angered male who was getting closer to the door. "Look I know you're mad, but you don't know where the kid is."

"I'll be back. You chill here and play Valorant or something." That was the last thing Jayden said before stepping out of the apartment and closing the door with a loud bang.
