"No, no- not like that, oh my God! Y/NN, we both know you can move your fingers better than that." I chastised her as she held my guitar in her hands and she lightly glared up at me.
"I'm just saying." I mumbled as she finally got her fingers in the right placement.
"You didn't tell me what song you want me to play- and by the looks of it it's not even a beginner song."
"Who needs a beginner song? You're doing great-"
"You literally just said..."
"Doesn't matter- come on, you want me to sing? I want you to learn." I nudged her and she huffed once more before looking down at my guitar.
"Babe, please, I'm tired now." She pouted and I giggled at her as she strummed cluelessly.
"Fine... you're no fun." I sighed and as my eyes remained on her sleepy state, "We're definitely working on this later."
"With an easier song." Her eyes narrowed but I kissed her head anyway knowing she wasn't being fully serious.
"Yes, with an easier song."
I hadn't known guitar long either I was still learning as I went but my major had really pushed me to grow as a musician. My true passion was songwriting and that's where all the fear laid. So, she passed me the guitar as she laid back down on the living room rug to listen to me in our dim lit apartment.
"Ready?" I questioned and she covered her eyes with her arm.
"I'm not even here."
Dork.
I softly played the first chord and I watched her lips form into an unbreakable smile. Giggling with her as her excitement spread to me and through my body.
"Did I drive you away?" I sang softly and I happily watched her smile get wider as she dug her upper face into the crook of her arm.
"I know what you'll say, you say, 'Oh sing one we know.'" I wet my lips as I watched her body get all tense again but due to giddiness this time around.
"But I promise you this, I'll always look out for you. Yeah, that's what I'll do." I scrunched up my nose the second she wanted to peek at me.
Feeling more comfortable with her presence she slowly took her arm away to watch me carefully. My fingers gently plucking and pressing down into the strings, my heart hammering harshly against my chest. The slight cool breeze swept through the apartment from the cracked balcony door and she adjusted her position on the floor. She laid at my feet with her back to the floor and gazed up at me as if she were witnessing Jesus, himself. Letting out another small laugh she matched my smile as I continued with the song I was singing.
"And I saw sparks. Yeah, I saw sparks, sing it out..." I started to end it and we both softly moved our heads to the popular Coldplay song.
The atmosphere a lot more calm now and she turned to her side just slightly more to kiss my bare leg. The small form of affection caused me to bring my hand down and softly grab onto her hair. My fingers running smoothly through it and against her scalp freely. Her nose scrunching up as she gave me a toothless grin and my heart leaped at the action. This was a whole different experience.
I'd sing to her forever now.

"Lance!" I yelled out as I pushed the coffee against the counter and ended up walking back to the espresso machine.
Being handed a cup from Haley, the girl who constantly ogled my girlfriend, I pushed down onto the hazelnut syrup a couple of times. Casper was testing out a new seasonal menu and it was already a huge hit. There was about four new specialty drinks and it was starting to get annoying rather quickly. Having to get full bottles of marshmallow base or hazelnut then making sure the toppings were perfectly aligned with Casper's vision.
