It's Saturday morning. The smell of clean cut grass in the early morning. The sun beaming into your bedroom. reflecting off your mirror. Doing that morning stretch. That real good one. That one where you can't help but let out a scream with it. It feels good don't it. Now the entire house knows you're awake. Sitting up in bed. Just to sit there for a minute. Before your day starts. Eyes closed. Deep breath. Then you hear dad doing yard work. You Walking towards the window. Seeing mom on the porch drinking her morning coffee. Younger siblings running throughout the yard as dad shakes his head. "If only I can enjoy 10mins of my work, you darn meddling kids". and the kids continue to run and scream "scooby Dooby dooooo" But he smiles as he starts edging the yard. "Clean cut". Is what Dad always says when he's finished. But them meddling kids are happy. So he's happy. Mom chuckles, she's happy. You make the bed. Cause mom will yell if it isn't. Brush your teeth. Change of clothes. Now your Saturday is about to begin. And it's going to be a good one. The room is bright. The door is open. As you walk towards the door you notice outside that door there is no light. It's dark. The light from your room doesn't shine past that door frame. It's odd. It's like it just suddenly stops beyond your room. You don't remember it ever being that dark in that hallway. You stand there for a minute out of concern. Confused. Questioning. Theres not much you can hear coming from the hallway. Just an echoing drum, a high pitch. You feel zoned out. You can feel the bass. Like a vibration throughout the house. The sound waves. You're more confused. Are you dreaming? But then you hear your moms voice. You snap out of it. "Go upstairs and make sure your brother is up". You walk out of your bedroom and into the hallway. There's a light at the end. As the light gets closer you can see the pictures hanging on the wall. Pictures of friends and family. You take a step back. Wondering what is this beam of light. It starts to blind you as it gets closer. You're looking all around but now all you see is the light. You feel a warm sensational feeling. You start to squint. It's in front of you now. You close your eyes. Something is grabbing your hand. What is it? You open your eyes to see what it is. It's your siblings. Sounds comes back. Vision is normal. Heart stays pounding. The vibration is still inside of your body. But slowly gives out. They are jumping up and down. Full of joy. Full of life. You feel light now. They pull you down the hallway into the yard, where the rest of the family is at. Moms saying breakfast is still warm in the kitchen. Dad making his typical smart remarks. "Must be nice to sleep in, I don't know anything about that" mom who always has your back to defend you tells dad. "let him enjoy being a kid". You feel at peace now. So restful. Going back into the house with mom as she makes your plate. Eggs, bacon, sausage and confetti pancakes! With a Nice cold cup of milk. Mmmm.... So filling. You hear the music playing on the Alexa device dad got for Christmas. Mom and dad start to dance throughout the kitchen. "Get a room" you tell them. dad responds. "We did, it's a 6bedroom house it's what you live in" you smile as you nod your head. Eating your breakfast. Dad always has something smart to say but he's never wrong. You hear your phone ring from your bedroom. You take your last bites of the pancakes in a rush. Mouth full. You remembered. Today you and your friends are playing baseball together. Getting the gang together. You turn and start to rush to your bedroom to get to the phone. Dad says "clean your mess there is no maids that work here" mom responds. "I'll take care of it honey, go get ready" as she remembers what today is. Dad. "You spoil them to much". Yet he's right again. She does. But you love every second of it. The way she loves you, cares for you, the warm feeling inside of you. It makes you feel special, full and most importantly, loved. You storm to your bedroom. Your room isn't as bright as before. It must be a bit cloudy outside now, but the forecast said clear skies. You don't smell the rain sneaking into your window so your not to worried. The feeling you just had in the kitchen start to fade. Slowly. The phone isn't ringing anymore. You don't even remember where you left it. You're looking around your room. A nervous feeling starts to hit you. What are you nervous for? Is it because you can't find your phone? Are you going to miss the game? Did they cancel? Is something wrong? You're losing sound again. The bass, the vibration and the high pitch starts to get louder. The pounding inside of you starts to get louder, harder. Like a explosion is about to take off. What is that? You look around some more. Things start to get blurry. Your head is spinning. Your tryna find that beam of light. It's no where to be found. You stumble towards the hallway again. Walk out of your bedroom. Sit on the floor. Hands over your eyes. Sound waves circling your head, your body. Over and over. Louder and louder. Harder and harder. And all of sudden it stops. The touch of someone's hands over your hands, removing them off your face. You open your eyes to see who it is. It's mom. Somehow she's gotten older. At least 10years older. Next to her standing is dad. Moms eyes are watery as if she's been crying. You noticed you feel sad, hurt and betrayed. Your unsure why. That nervous feeling still sits. Dad reaches for your hand as mom kisses your forehead and says "don't worry my angel, everything will be alright". You stand up and look into the mirror that's in the hallway. You aged. Your older somehow from when you just left the kitchen to now. You start to remember. Little by little but it's not all there. It's like something is missing. The feeling of emptiness still floats inside of you. Like it's in your soul. You don't wanna talk. You don't wanna move. Your tired. Dad walks with you into your room. You lay in the bed as dad tells you. "Son, everything will work out fine. Stay strong. Stay brave and do what always feels right. No matter what". He gives you the talk of life. Life of a man. You hear him but somethings just don't make sense. The more he talks the less you can understand the words that he is saying. Your losing his voice. Your eyes are getting heavy. You shut them. They stay shut. Your dads voice is now gone. You don't hear anything now. Feel anything. So you just lay there. In emptiness. Alone. The vibration comes back. It gets louder and louder. You try to open your eyes. But you can't. You can't awake. Why can't you wake? Loud drumming comes in. It's overbearing now. It's punching your body. Beating your body. Your sleeping but yet your still somehow feel tired. The sounds and vibration are to much now. You sit up in bed quickly and wake up. Opened your eyes. You look around. Your room looks a bit different. The birds are tweeting. It's the early morning. You walk into the hallway. On the wall are pictures of your mom and dad and your siblings. Your siblings are adults now. Which is strange. There are also pictures of younger kids and a women. Pictures of you with them as well. Who are they? You go outside and notice dad been slacking on cutting the grass. So you start to cut it. As your cutting the grass you start to smell breakfast. It smells like bacon. Your favorite. The sound of music being played. You feel alright but all of sudden that started to change. You started mowing the lawn in the back corner and for some reason it's dark there. You turn around and noticed it's pitch black. You can't see the house anymore. Sounds once again start to fade. It's gone now and all that is left is a high pitch. The waves are back in your body. Why is this keep happening? You look around but still see nothing. You can't breathe. Every gasp of air you take it feels harder than the last. You feel pressure now. A lot more. It's heavy. Your legs feel weak, like your about to collapse. "Why am I tired again". You ask yourself. You continue to look around. Look for help. Anything. Your eyes are getting low. They are about to shut. Right before they do you see a beam of light. Its similar to once before. It's moving side to side. Getting closer and closer as if the beam of light was bouncing off a wall. As it gets closer it gets brighter. As it gets clouded the high pitch gets louder. The beam of light is so bright it blinds you so you shut your eyes. The high pitch ring also hits you. But then it suddenly stops. You open your eyes slowly. You see color again, not as bright as you before, but color. The birds are tweeting, the lawnmower running and the sound of someone stretching really loudly. You see kids running throughout the yard. A women sitting drinking her coffee. A boy looking out the window watching you. Same people from the pictures. You smile at the younger kids and say. "If only I can enjoy 10mins of my work, you darn meddling kids".
"Scooby dooby doooooo" as the kids scream running throughout the yard. "Cleeeean cut".The end.
