Hanni's POV
My pet's chirp woke me up from my dream, out of all people why does she's the one who needs to appear in my dreams.
I turned my phone on and panicked when I realized that I was already 30 minutes late and had 10 missed calls from Danielle. I texted her back that I had an emergency, so she could excuse me from class.
Looks who's dumb for setting an alarm in the calculator.
"Hanni, you forgot the car keys" my mom ran towards me.
"I have them, mom."
"That is a key on your room." She replied. Why do I have to be so idiotic early in the morning. I thought to myself.
I started the engine and drove faster to the school. I nearly bumped into a car in front of me, but thank God I was fast to stop. I parked at my usual spot, and students greeted me. I winked at them, and they squealed. I loved it; it meant I still had my charm. This will work on Minji, right? Definitely.
I could see a bunch of stuff in my locker again. There were letters, chocolates, and some random gifts. Why did they need to spend money on these? But I had a conscience, so I kept all of them.
I noticed a familiar face in the locker area. She looked pretty as hell just by arranging her things. She didn't seem to notice my presence, but when she turned her head, our eyes met, making her cheeks turn red.
"Hi there, Isa," I greeted her first because she seemed mesmerized by my beauty, kidding.
"Hi, I didn't get your name yesterday. Nice meeting you again," she said, avoiding my gaze, which was cute. But I helped her chin and lifted it up.
"Don't be shy, babygirl. By the way, I'm Hanni. Pham Hanni," I introduced myself from the interrupted words yesterday.
I was about to talk to her more when the tall girl walked towards us. Maybe her team was going to the court. She was holding a ball and looked hella attractive. My attention was on her that I forgot I was talking to Isa a while ago.
She passed by without looking at me. How could she? She's shy again, I presumed. I wanted to have some conversation with her, but they were walking fast, and my legs were short.
"Hanni," Isa snapped her fingers in front of my face. I blinked twice, and at the same time, Danielle was calling me again.
Three missed calls.
"Shit, I'm one hour late."
Rushing towards my room, I almost slipped on the hallway. Who the fuck spilled water here? I nearly died because of this. I was panting when I entered the room. Our teacher didn't even bother to give me attention and continued reading his lecture.
"Where have you been? Mister Kwon marked you again as late," Danielle was busy taking notes, not even looking at me while talking.
"Just catch up with Asa."
"Asa? What the fck, the grade 7 student?" she whispered frustratingly.
"I mean Isa," I corrected my own words. Shit, she might think that I like younger people. My mouth is so dumb.
"Care to share your thoughts, Miss Pham, about the story I told?" Why was I his favorite to call? But good thing, I had knowledge about that story.
"The Orpheus and Eurydice is a tragic tale of love and loss." All eyes were on me as I continued. Surprised, they were visible in them, as if it was my first time saying something correct.
"This story is a cautionary tale about the dangers of giving in to temptation. Orpheus' love for Eurydice was so strong that he could not resist the urge to look back and lost her as a result. It also serves as a reminder that sometimes our actions have unintended consequences and that we must be willing to accept the consequences of our choices.
