My new life began when I opened my eyes, but I was unaware of it at the time. I started to cough violently, as though I had drowned. Perhaps that is how it was. I hadn't noticed I was somewhere in the dark until just now. I searched around me for anything but instead found nothing—only the darkness. I suddenly realized that I had no memories at all. Since I thought it would be impossible to be memory-free, I started to look in my head for answers. I tried to remember. But no. Nothing at all.
It was quite odd. I can still see snow. However, I didn't remember a snowball game strategy. I couldn't recall the people from my memories. I'm familiar with what a bicycle is. I do not, however, recall how my parents taught me to ride it. If so, what did they teach me? I had a feeling that I was viewing everything from underwater. I immediately realized that I couldn't even recall my name. Parents. Where are they? How do I get there? I became anxious.
My name is Gabriella, I thought.
"At least something." It was my first time speaking.
I was startled by a sudden, loud, piercing clang of metal that resounded off its walls. There was just a little bit of weak light, which allowed my eyes to partially view the place. It was like a small cell. There was an iron mesh beneath the feet, on the walls, and on the ceiling. There are a lot of different boxes. I wondered to see what was going to occur next while sitting in the corner of this cage, holding my knees. This cell began to rise slowly. which is comparable to an elevator. As the speed of the cell grew, the sound of the iron striking metal turned more and more audible as it also did so.
I was so frightened at that moment.
That was the ceiling that caught my attention as I glanced upward. The cage was moving incredibly quickly toward the ceiling. I was so frightened at that exact time. This cell seemed to be unable to slow down in time. Once the cage finally reached the ceiling, it crashed hard, causing me to jump backward and hit the top of my head on it.
A huge clank broke out above me, and I took a shocked breath as I looked up. I stared as a straight line of light extended over the room's ceiling. A powerful grinding sound suggested that twin sliding doors were being wrenched open. After being in the dark for so long, the light pricked my eyes. I averted my gaze, my hands shielding my face.
"Who's there, Newt?" asked an unknown voice
"Another shank," someone said
"Shuck-face," another voice told
One of the guys jumped into the cage, which she stumbled out of, and as soon as he noticed me, he fell into a stupor. He had the impression that it could have been the first time he was seeing a girl. Maybe it was so. He had a really confused expression with which he raised his head, and after a little pause, he said it with a British accent.
"It's a bloody girl."
Everyone was silent for a minute, and then an unexplained sequence of events started. Everyone spoke in whispers or muttered something, and someone gave me an extremely terrified face, which made me even more on guard.
What's happenin' there?" The brunette who had just come here said
"Nick, It's a girl." Without saying any words, he descended to me, raising his brow slightly in surprise.
"Hey," he said to me, "Don't worry, we won't hurt you. " Nick continued quietly.
"How can I believe you?"
"I promise. We won't hurt you. I won't let it happen. Now, let's get out of here."
He held out his hand to try to help me in standing. I grasped his hand even though I was a bit anxious. He helped me to get out of there. When I get out of this cage, I came across around 30 men staring at me. Not at all relaxed and at ease, especially when you consider the fact that there doesn't seem to be a single girl around. Other than that, the way that they looked at me reminded me of how a predatory animal views its victim. I had shivers all over.
"Don't worry. They won't hurt you. " Nick clapped me on the shoulder.
I had so many things I wanted to ask. There are so many unanswered questions. But I continue to stay silent. I took a look around before a shock overwhelmed me. It was a large courtyard that was at least twice the size of a football field and was surrounded by four gigantic walls constructed of grey stone that had been partially covered in thick ivy. Each of the sides had been divided precisely in the middle by an aperture that was nearly just as tall as the walls themselves, leading, from what I could see, to passages and lengthy corridors beyond. The walls had a height of hundreds of feet high and formed a perfect square surrounding them.
"Welcome to the Glade!" Nick clapped on my shoulder.
A/N: I accidentally deleted everything I wrote, so I had to write again. Hope you enjoy
