*From Y/N's perspective*
As I watched Maya fall asleep, a small smile graced my face. She looked peaceful even in her weakened state, but I couldn't help but worry about her recovery. I gently patted her head, hoping my touch would bring her comfort as she rested.
Lost in my thoughts, I was startled by a knock on the door. I quickly got up and opened it, finding a maid standing there.
She informed me that our wedding guests had been safely escorted back to their homes, as per Maya's request when the battle began. I thanked the maid with a smile, appreciating her efficiency in handling the situation.
The maid then inquired about Maya's condition, mentioning that they could hardly feel her mana flowing to them anymore. I sighed and explained the situation to her, telling her about Maya's depleted mana and my desire to find a way to help her recover quickly. The maid admitted her limited knowledge in such matters and suggested that I check the mansion's library, where Maya had kept a collection of books about vampires and medical magic. I nodded gratefully at her suggestion, and she excused herself.
Left alone again, I made my way to the mansion's library. On my journey there, I saw the damaged wing of the mansion being magically restored to its original state by the ministry. The sight of the repairs reminded me of the intensity of the battle we had just fought, and I couldn't help but feel grateful that Maya had emerged victorious.
Once inside the library, I was greeted by rows upon rows of bookshelves, housing a vast collection of books. I started searching through the aisles, hoping to find a topic that might lead me to a solution for helping Maya recover.
As I delved into my search, I was surprised by a cheerful "hello" from a girl with fox-like features. She had few tails and a set of ears, marking her as a fox spirit. I realized that this must be Luna, Maya's library manager, whom I had heard about but never interacted with before.
Luna noticed my purposeful search and asked what had brought me to the library. I explained my desire to find books about vampires and medical magic to aid in Maya's recovery. Luna kindly showed me where the relevant books were stored and recommended some specific titles that might be helpful.
I spent hours reading through the books, but despite my efforts, I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. As I thanked Luna for her assistance and mentioned that I would likely become a frequent visitor to the mansion's library, I still felt a sense of determination to help Maya.
As I left the library, my mind raced with possibilities, searching for the right solution to bring my beloved vampire queen back to her full power and vitality.
The next morning, I woke up and checked on Maya's condition beside me. She was still asleep, and seeing her like this only fueled my determination to help her recover.
After going through my morning routine, I made my way to the dining room, where the maids had prepared breakfast. I ate quickly, eager to get back to the library to continue my search for a possible solution to aid Maya's recovery. Over the next few days, I repeated this routine, sometimes skipping breakfast altogether in my eagerness to find answers.
Since I was linked to Maya's mana pool, I started using environmental mana, which Maya had taught me, more frequently to aid in her recovery.
With Luna's help and guidance, I delved into numerous books, searching for any information that could lead me to a solution. Finally, after days of researching, I found a glimmer of hope in a book about vampires and their magical capabilities. The book revealed that in times of mana depletion, a vampire could receive mana from the surrounding environment if their mana levels fell below 5%.
Reading further, I learned that the process of extracting and channeling environmental mana required precision, as the energy was wild and could lead to catastrophic magic accidents if not handled carefully. But with newfound hope and determination, I began honing my ability to process environmental mana, aiming to match Maya's unique mana characteristics.
Late one night, I felt that I was ready to attempt the magic. I focused on my surroundings, gathering as much energy as I could. With each breath, I processed the energy, trying to align it with Maya's mana signature. I hesitated at first, unsure if my efforts would work, but then I channeled a small amount of the extracted mana to Maya and observed her reaction.
To my relief and delight, I saw a change in Maya. Her previously pale skin started to restore its color, and a glimmer of life returned to her. Encouraged, I continued to channel more mana gradually, ensuring that I was not overwhelming her with the energy I was providing. With every bit of mana I transferred, I could see improvements in her condition.
I kept going, determined to give her all the processed energy I could muster. Finally, when I had given all that I could, exhaustion began to weigh on me. It was late into the night, and I knew I needed to rest. With a hopeful heart, I closed my eyes and allowed sleep to take over me, trusting that the magic I had performed would be enough to aid Maya's recovery.
From Maya's perspective
I woke up, trying to process my surroundings. My left hand was held by Y/N, who was asleep in a sitting position beside me. I remembered what had happened, and I gently released my hand from his, a smile forming on my lips as I saw that Y/N had stayed beside me throughout.
Getting out of bed, I stood up and immediately noticed something different. It felt like I was shorter than what I remembered. Curious, I looked at myself in the mirror,
and to my surprise, I had returned to my teenage body. I was now a 16-year-old girl.
I never thought this would happen to me. I had heard that vampires with large mana capacities could revert to a younger body to help their mana regenerate quickly by deactivating some part of their mana pool. However, I felt like I had already recovered up to 70% of my current mana pool. But the mana characteristic felt different than what I remembered.
Lost in my thoughts, I was brought back to the present by a telepathic message from Luna. She congratulated me on my recovery and expressed her relief that Y/N's magic had been successful. Intrigued, I teleported to Luna in the library and asked her to explain exactly what Y/N had done.
Luna, slightly taken aback by my sudden and changed appearance, proceeded to tell me what had happened in the last few days. As I learned the full story of my recovery, I couldn't help but feel immense gratitude towards Y/N. He had done something incredible for me, something that I could never fully repay him for.
With a newfound understanding of what Y/N had accomplished, I made my way back to my room where he was waiting for me. On my way, I passed a few maids who bowed to me, acknowledging me as their queen. I smiled warmly at them, grateful for their loyalty and support.
Entering my room, I met Y/N's slightly confused expression. However, I couldn't contain my joy and excitement any longer, so I wrapped my arms around him in a tight hug. He asked me why I looked younger, and I explained the situation to him, expressing my gratitude and love for him from the bottom of my heart. His actions had not only saved me but also given me a new beginning.
As I looked into his eyes, I saw a mix of emotions – relief, happiness, and love. He had risked so much for me, and I knew that I was truly blessed to have him by my side. In that moment, I realized that no matter what challenges we faced, as long as we were together, we could overcome anything.
