"Azlan beta. Mujh se aik waada karo gy??" His grandfather asked him and his attention shifted to him.
"Kaisa waada??" Azlan asked him, confused.
"Yhi k jab myn iss duniya myn naa rha tou tum meri bachi ka khayal rkho gy aur uski sab zimadaariyan uthao gy." He said and Azlan eyes widened.
"What do you mean, dada abu??" Azlan asked him and he passed him a small sad smile.
"Yhi k tum meri bachi se nikah karo gy aur usko hamesha khush rkho gy." And this is how he blasted the bomb at his family.
"Dada abu... what are you saying?? How can I??" He said totally shocked by his demand.
"Why can you not??" His grandfather said.
"Mera matlab hy k how can I marry her?? She is so younger than me and she might have some dreams or she might like someone else. I can't do this with her." Azlan said.
"Pehli baat bachy, Umar tou sirf aik number hy aur doosri baat, myn jaanta hun k tmhary ilawa meri bachi ko itna pyaar koi nahi kr skta." He said and Azlan was so loss at words.
"Phir bhi dada abu, her future, her dreams..." Azlan said but his grandfather cut him off.
"Do you love her??" He asked him.
"What??" Azlan asked him shocked with wide eyes.
"Meri baat ka sach sach jawab dena. Do you love her??" He asked him.
"Yes I do but everyone here do. Mujhy samajh nhi aa rhi k achanak se yh baat aa kahan se gyi?" Azlan said voicing out his and everyone present there's thoughts.
"Baat achanak nahi aati aur myn ny kuch soch samjh kr hi ki hy. Tum tou beta jaaty ho k bahir ki duniya kitni zaalim hy aur hmari bachi boht masoom hy. Wo iss duniya ka muqabla nabi kr skti."
"Wo jitni marzi strong hy but we all know how sensitive she is and I don't want anyone taking advantage of her naiveness." He said and stood up. He sat beside Azlan and held his hand.
"Beta myn bhi jaanta hun aur tum bhi. Mantasha bachpan hi se baki bachon se alag thi. Jab bachy aapis myn aik dosry k sath khelty aur dost bnaty hyn tab wo har waqt sirf tmhary paas hi rehti thi. Aur yeh baat bhi sach hy k usny tmhary ilawa kisi ko bhi dost nhi bnaya. Haan Farah bhi uski dost hy lekin hmyn yh b pta hy k unki dosti tum ny hi krwai thi aur tum par hi barossa kr k usny Farah ko apna dost bnaya tha."
"Iski wajah bhi kisi se chupi hui nhi hy. Mujhy pta hy k kesy school myn bachy isko bully kiya karty thy, just because she had no mother and they thought that she is arrogant and spoiled which she is absolutely not."
"Meri bachi ko ham jitna marzi laad pyar dyn, but she has to marry one day and I don't want her to face all the cruelness of this outside world. I don't trust anyone in her matter except you."
"I trust you and I know you will love her and protect her all her life. And I can't think of anyone else in your place. I am not forcing you. I am just sharing my concern with you. But please think about it." He said and patted his back who nodded still loss at words. He stood up and went to his room with his wife following him behind.
Everyone was surprised at their grandfather while Mrs. Bushra was over the moon listening to him. It was like a dream comes true for her and she knew that Azlan will not deny this proposal.
