After some time, when everyone got tired of singing and jumping around, they again sat down on their seats to take a break. Mantasha plopped down on the seat beside Azlan who still had a small smile on his face. His hard exterior was nowhere. One, because of his family and second because of the special person of his family. His eyes had different type of softness whenever he looks at her and her smile, washes away all his worries and stress. He knew that he is done for. He knew that he is so deep inside it, that even if he want he can't get rid of these feelings.
"Azi," Mantasha called out, drawing Azlan out of his reverie. He hummed in acknowledgment as she continued, her tone soft and pleading. "I don't want to share a room with anyone," she confessed, giving him a persuasive look. Azlan shook his head immediately, adamant in his refusal.
"No, absolutely not. Remember last time? You got scared in the middle of the night. I'm not taking any chances," he stated firmly, anticipating her disappointment.
Mantasha whined in protest, attempting to sway his decision. "But that was because of the thunderstorm. There's no sign of rain now. Please, pretty please," she pleaded, her eyes pleading with him. Azlan remained resolute, knowing the potential consequences of giving in to her request.
"Mantasha, please understand. You know you get scared easily, and I hate to see tears in your eyes," Azlan reasoned, his voice tinged with concern. Mantasha nodded in reluctant acceptance, but before she could argue further, he cut her off.
"I said no, and I'm not changing my mind," he declared, his tone firm. Mantasha sighed, her disappointment evident as she slumped in her seat with a pout.
It wasn't the first time she had demanded a separate room, fully aware of her tendency to get scared in unfamiliar places. Despite her stubbornness, Azlan couldn't bear to deny her request. However, he vividly remembered the last time he had relented; at 2 am, her tearful phone call had shattered the silence, prompting him to rush to her side. Seeing her tear-stained face, he had immediately comforted her, resolving to ensure she felt safe and secure. In the end, he had called his mother to stay with her, seeking to alleviate her fears and provide her with the reassurance she needed.
When they arrived in Lahore, the clock already read 4 pm. Azlan took charge and headed to the reception to check everyone in. Once done, he collected the keys to all the rooms and distributed them accordingly. He then turned to Mantasha, who reluctantly agreed to accompany him, her pout still evident.
After a brief exchange with his mother, Azlan led Mantasha to their room. With a nod from his mother, he opened the door, gesturing for Mantasha to enter first. She stepped into the room and was immediately taken aback by the luxurious surroundings.
"Come with me," Azlan beckoned, and Mantasha obediently followed him. He opened another door, revealing a separate room. Mantasha looked at him in confusion. "This is your room," he announced, prompting a surprised reaction from Mantasha.
"My room? As in, just for me?" she clarified, her eyes widening in disbelief. Azlan chuckled at her reaction. "Yes, it's yours. And mine is just next door, with a connecting door between them. Is that alright?" he explained, his tone gentle. Mantasha's face lit up with a smile as she eagerly nodded in response. She bounded into the room and bounced onto the bed, her excitement contagious.
"I want to see your room too," Mantasha declared, and Azlan couldn't help but roll his eyes playfully. "Misha, our rooms are identical. Do you really think I'd take a larger room and give you a smaller one?" he teased. Mantasha shook her head, undeterred. "Still, let me see your room," she insisted. Azlan relented with a sigh, leading her to the connecting door and showing her his room on the other side.
