"I'm really sorry about that

"I'm really sorry about that." You sighed and caressed libero's hand with your thumb apologetically. The two of you were walking down the street, swinging your  interlocked hands back and forth.

The morning air was rather cool, and your surroundings were painted in shades of grey-ish blue. The sun hasn't came up entirely just yet.

But still, you would have expected far more people roaming the city streets. There were only few passing by. Maybe it was still a bit too early for Miyagi to wake up. And yet, there you were, cold fingers intertwined with shorter, rougher ones.

We're a thousand miles from comfort

"I basically dropped a whole-ass bomb on you, just like that. Just when you told me about your feelings..."

The boy bumped into your shoulder playfully. "Oh please, nothing to be sorry for doll! I'm actually glad you trusted me enough to share something so... heavy."

We have travelled land and sea

You smiled and let your gaze fall from the early moring streets to the pathway beneath the soles of your shoes.

Maybe that's what you needed all along. To open your mouth and slip out of the handcuffs that tied you down. Maybe you needed him all along.

But as long as you are with me
There's no place I'd rather be

"You know... Whenever you want to talk about it-" Nishinoya tried to speak again.

But you didn't let him finish. "You'll be there for me. I know. Thank you." You smiled at him.

As long as I am with you
My heart continues to beat

It finally felt like you could breathe again. And the air never felt so fresh as it has at that moment. So, you selfishly took such deep breaths, as if you just couldn't get enough of it.

"You know, I told my therapist about you." You stated as a matter of fact, making your way over to the building her office was set in. Nishinoya wouldn't drop the subject of your today's session until you gave in and let him tag along on your way there.

The dates and times usually differed, based on how busy her schedule was. You hated morning sessions. But the therapist was so considerate she would set the meeting on very early hour, so you could get to school just in time to not miss anything. How lovely. But her intentions were good. She was a good person.

"WHAT? R-really?" The libero spat out and blinked in genuine shock. Panic very visibly reflected on his sclera. Having such companion by your side made the morning session seem much less miserable.
