Chapter 3: My Father

"Hey...Do you have a home?" Kunikuzushi says in a warm tone.

"Except for that makeshift hut." He says. Pointing at the rundown small hut that won't fit the two.

999 couldn't talk. However. He could understand human speech so he motioned that he does not have a home in this world by moving his slime head left and right.

Kunikuzushi understands the slime's motion. "That makes the two of us that are homeless." He narrows his eyes. He doesn't know what possessed him but the idea of hating his creator seemed new to him. He doesn't feel hatred for his creator abandoning him. Like the hatred in his heart for her disappeared.

Whatever it was. It was a miracle to his world that was swallowed by hatred and grief.

He can't seem to point it out. But Kunikuzushi felt like the slime is the one responsible for what he was feeling.

He felt like this slime should be protected at all cost. Like a star in the sky. Shining brightly in the void.

He didn't know what possessed him but he named the slime "Aster" not having any clue what that name even means. Even so. He felt that name suited the slime currently purring in his arms.

Today was going to be a long but eventful day.

3 days later~

(999's pov)

999 had recently met and saved this boy. Kunikuzushi. From madness and insanity. Of course. 999 doesn't know that. He just knows that he did a good thing by making Kunikuzushi smile and laugh.

But over the course of being together. 999 can't help but notice that even though he certainly has money. He doesn't have a house or somewhere to live in. They would stop at certain locations and then continue journeying.

999 just came to accept that the boy is a person who loves travelling. 999 also discovered that this country's name is inazuma. To which 999 does not know of a country like this. Because ever since he was born. He is sheltered. But 999 does not care about his situation. He thinks that he can make a lot more people happy. Since he is free from the foundation.

After all. You being happy is 999's source of happiness.

"Aster!" Kunikuzushi says loudly to the slime currently in the water about 10 meters away from himself.

Upon hearing that name the boy has given him. 999 skedaddled his way to Kunikuzushi. Upon the way. 999 gestured for Kunikuzushi to carry him. To which Kunikuzushi doesn't understand until 999 jumped up and down with his arms(?) Up in the air.

"You want to be carried?" Kunikuzushi asked politely.

999 rapidly shook his head(?) up and down. Signifying that he indeed wants to be carried.

Kunikuzushi smiled and picked up 999. He immediately melted emotionally due to 999 anomalous ability. Giving him emotions of pure joy and comfort.

Kunikuzushi thought. 'It hasn't been a month or year every since I met Aster. But I am already smitten with the slime like my...... Other..betrayals....'

The grief of his betrayals after meeting Aster disappeared out of thin air. Like it never existed in the first place. All that remained was the pleasant feelings from his closest people (that he misunderstood as betrayal.) resurfaced and warmed his cold heart.

He saw a statue of the seven and prayed to it. The lingering resentment to Raiden. His creator. Gone within his heart.

He thanked the gods above for the blessing that he received from them. He certainly didn't believe it was a coincidence.

What he didn't know is that the gods(specifically archons and Raiden herself) heard his thanks message.

Raiden wondered what changed for the person who she created come praying to not just her--but the archons as well. It seems she has to take a look....

The other gods were curious as well since it's strange that a prayer would come all the way from Inazuma. Especially since the Shogun there is quite strict.

"Prophesied Savior of worlds by the Creator. May you save this world. Teyvat. Not only from your father. The Scarlet King. But from the corruption of Celestia and the Abyss order. Please...." A voice from high above could be heard by 999 but Kunikuzushi did not.

'What did the voice mean? Do they know of my father? If they do. Can I ask them where he is so I could play with him?' 999 excitedly thought. Unlike many kids who have experience with their fathers leaving them alone with their mothers. 999 loved his father and mother. He hoped that they will be reunited. Along with his siblings. Of course.
