The three friends sat around the table, savoring every bite of the warm cinnamon apple cake. It was a moment they had been waiting for, ever since they decided to form their own guild. They had worked hard to get their guild license, and now they were officially the Third Wish Guild.
As they savored the warm, sweet slices of cinnamon apple cake, Sonny suddenly turned to Romeo and asked, "Hey, Romeo, when did you and Leon first meet?"
Romeo chuckled and looked at Leon, who grinned back at him. "Well, it was back in sophomore year of high school," Romeo began. "We were both in Mr. Johnson's science class, and he paired us up for a project."
Leon added, "I remember thinking, 'FUCK, I'm stuck with this know-it-all for the next few weeks.'"
Romeo rolled his eyes playfully. "Hey, I had to do most of the work because you kept forgetting deadlines and showing up late to our meetings."
Leon shrugged. "Okay, okay, you got me there. But we still managed to get an A, right?"
Sonny nodded, grinning. "That's cool. So, where were you guys born at?"
Romeo replied first. "I was actually adopted by my two dads in Fire Agate City. It's the capital Kingdom of all Northern dragoon in the mountains, but it's home to me."
Leon hesitated for a moment before answering, "I was born in a desert tribe in Southern Dragoon. I've grown up most of my life in the desert, actually."
Romeo raised an eyebrow at Leon's answer, but didn't say anything. Sonny, however, seemed fascinated. "Wow, that's really interesting. I've never met anyone from a desert tribe before."
Leon smiled mysteriously. "Yeah, it's definitely a different way of life. But I wouldn't trade it for anything."
The three of them continued to enjoy the delicious cake, sounds of forks colliding with plates could be heard filling the entire room.
"Guys, I have some news," said Leon, breaking the silence. "Now that we have our license, we can finally focus on our previous mission. You remember Jonathan Goldhand's journal, right?"
Romeo and Sonny nodded in agreement. Jonathan Goldhand was a powerful thief who had gone missing years ago. His journal was rumored to contain a way to his secret treasure, and the three friends had been trying to find it for a while.
"Well, I think I might have found a way to get inside the guildhall," continued Leon. "If we can sneak in, we might be able to find some information that can help us with our investigation."
Romeo's eyes lit up. "That's a bad idea, Leon! We should definitely not do that, I'm not trying to bail you out of jail, again."
Sonny looked a bit hesitant. "I agree with Romeo, maybe we should think of another way? What if we get caught?"
Leon shrugged. "We'll just have to be careful. Besides, we've got each other's backs. This isn't the first time I've broken inside of an official government building."
"Is this one of those 'Leon moments' where if I say no, you're just going to do it by yourself anyway." Romeo said.
Leon got out of his seat, quickly answered "yes" and went to put his shoes on.
Romeo reluctantly agreed and reassured Sonny that he can be lookout if he's that uncomfortable, Sonny had a notable frown on his face and Leon noticed.
"How about this, if I do find anything, we'll make photocopies of the evidence and I'll put everything back in one piece" Leon assured.
Sunny gave an agreeable nod, The three friends finished their cake and made their way to the guildhall.
It was a large, imposing building, with guards stationed at every entrance. They had to come up with a plan that would allow them to enter undetected.
