Magnus, the guild master of Cinnabar City, sat behind a large wooden desk in his office, surrounded by shelves filled with books and artifacts from all over the world. The third wish guild stood before him, waiting to hear about their first mission.
"Good morning, boys," Magnus said, his deep voice rumbling through the room. "I have a new assignment for you. It may be a bit challenging, but I'm confident you're up for the task."
Romeo, Leon, and Sonny exchanged a quick glance, their excitement evident.
"You'll be heading to the Eastern district of the city," Magnus continued, "known as the Styx district. It's not the safest part of town, but there's something there that I need you to retrieve."
"What is it?" Romeo asked, unable to contain his curiosity.
Magnus leaned forward, his eyes locked onto Romeo's. "It's a rare artifact, one that I've been searching for for years. It's said to be located in an abandoned warehouse in the heart of the Styx district."
"Abandoned warehouse?" Leon repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Naw man, Sounds like a set up to me."
"It's possible," Magnus admitted. "But I've done my research, and I believe the artifact is there. And I believe you three are capable of retrieving it."
"Can you tell us what the artifact looks like?" Romeo ask
"You won't miss it." Magnus replied
"We won't let you down," Sonny said, his hand resting on the hilt of a nearby display sword.
"I know you won't," Magnus said, a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Be careful out there. The Styx district can be a dangerous place, especially for youngsters like yourselves. But I have faith in your abilities. You leave today at first light."
Out in the hallway Leon and Sonny both look at Romeo with surprise. "Wait, you mean the lighthouse lounge that's infamous for being a Hangout spot for the ugly suit gang, the swine Mafia family?" Leon asks, his voice filled with annoyance.
Romeo nods, his eyes shining with excitement. "Yes, that's the one. According to Goldhand's journal and the files, that's where Jonathan spent most of his time. Now we have concrete proof that this is indeed Jonathan Goldhand's actual journal. If Jonathan always goes to this bar and Midas the kid from the files also frequented this bar then I say the two are somehow connected, So we kill two birds with one stone, we get the artifact, then we check out this bar," he says, rubbing his hands together.
Sonny shakes his head, looking skeptical. "I don't know, guys. You guys said it yourselves, the swine mafia family are not to be messed with. I read in the news that they control the entire Styx district, and they won't just let us walk in and take what we want," he warns.
Romeo grins, his eyes gleaming with determination. "That's why we need to be smart about this. We need to come up with a plan, and we need to stick to it. We can't let fear control us," he says, his voice firm.
Leon nods in agreement. "He's right. We can do this, guys. We've been trained for this. We just need to be careful and stay alert," he says, his fists clenched.
The three young men exchange a determined look,They take a deep breath and head out of the guildhall.
As they load up the last of their supplies into the back of Leon's truck, Sonny turns to Romeo and Leon with a curious expression. "So, what about you guys? What do you do for a living?" he asks, his tone light.
Romeo grins, wiping his hands on his jeans. "I was a teacher's aid for the past year. It was pretty boring, to be honest," he says, shrugging his shoulders.
