TW for violence, blood and death

Oralie put her crown on the bedside table and slipped under the sea silk blankets. Her husband was already snoring away, tired from the day's events.

But... why?

She didn't know. She just rested her head on her pillow and stared into the cosy darkness of the huge bedroom until she fell asleep.

Oralie woke up to a shout, her light brown hair still somehow messy from sleeping.

But that wasn't the problem. She could taste blood in the water. The queen looked up in shock to see Orace's lifeless body floating in the water just above her. Oralie screamed and peered frantically around the room, to see Meria smirking not so far away from the bed.

"MERIA!" Oralie screamed. "WHY DID YOU KILL HIM!"

The walls just had to be soundproof.

The other mermaid simply exclaimed her black nails. "I just need to kill both of you so that I can rule over the kingdom to get what I want."

Oralie was freaked on how casually her arch nemesis talked about death.

"And. What. Do. You. WANT?" She asked with gritted teeth.

Not that she had any intention of surrendering to Meria's demands.

But there was something wrong yesterday.

A foggy patch in her memory, and it seemed like it involved-

Diana.

Meria chuckled.

"Oh, so you've finally figured it out, Oralie. That one blank spot in your photographic memory. I managed to control you and your husband- or should I say, ex-husband. The ten minutes I got from controlling you both was enough to kidnap your daughter."

Oralie tried to keep her glare at Meria, but her eyes started to cloud over, finally comprehending what she just heard. She managed to choke out one word.

"How?"

Meria tutted. "What matters is that your life is coming to an end. Now, darlin'."

Oralie barely turned around before a long, curved blade sank into her abdomen.

She gasped at her murderer.

Captain Hunter grinned at her, his head encased in a bubble.

He slipped the blade out and tied it to his waist.

"Goodbye, Oralie," Meria said with a smile.

"We will enjoy ruling your kingdom." Hunter finished for his wife with a smile.

And that was the last thing that Oralie saw before her eyes closed for the very last time.
