(I actually wrote the part where Diana was in pain with most of the adjectives Zilin was sending me because right now she's on her phone using mobile data in the middle of actually nowhere)
Everything hurt for Diana.
It felt like someone had broken every bone in her body and set fire to her nerves.
The worst pain was her broken heart.
Why?
Why did she have to deal with this?
Why must her parents die?
Why must her kingdom be overtaken by the worst people to ever exist?
Diana cracked open her eyes, even though doing so quickly caused a splitting migraine.
Her thoughts spun and raced at a few hundred kilometres an hour as she saw what happened.
The scene of her friends on the verge of death.
The pain, fear and pain made her spiral out of control.
"Please! Stop!" She shouted, hot tears streaming down her face, leaving a tingling sensation on her skin before more tears came down the exact same path.
Everyone stopped what they were doing immediately.
A sickening bolt of pain shot through Diana from her chest, making her look down.
The hypnotising ball of crackling darkness frighteningly close to her chest was the cause of the pain.
She looked up cautiously to see a mass of red hair in her face, probably meaning that this was Meria summoning the magic.
"Make the ball of dark magic go away," Diana commanded Meria, her voice still croaky.
The purple-black shadows disappeared and it felt like a tremendous weight was lifting off her chest.
"Let me go and swim over to your husband and son," Diana commanded Meria.
Once that was in place, Diana sat down, trembling from the ache still there, concentrating so that she would let her friend's minds go free whilst Jasper, Hunter and Meria were still under her control.
(Zilin and I literally just furiously going off task by typing the lyrics of the world will know to each other by text lol just because I said "gO aNd LoOk It Up ThE pOoR gUy'S hEaD iS sPinNiNg" then "WE'VE GOT A UNION!)
"Thank you so much for rescuing us, Diana," Luseal said as soon as she could speak. "How are you feeling?"
"Really bad. But we have to leave now, because I'm-I'm losing my control over these three."
"We don't have time to kill them?" Theo asked.
He then got a look from Elizabeth saying 'Really, we do not have time, and you don't kill people all the time to fix problems, Theodore Carey'.
"We have to go! Now! I've lost control!" Diana shouted, flicking her tail to swim as fast as she could out of the palace room.
Luseal was the first to follow her, Elizabeth dragging Theo not far behind.
A few minutes later Theo had to help Diana swim as the pain was getting too much for her.
"Where are we going?" He yelled to Elizabeth, who was in the lead.
"I don't know. We will swim up as fast as we can."
Luseal stopped for a second, and looked down, probably thinking of her father and the beloved sea horses she'd left behind, but turned back quickly because of the three figures racing behind them.
The water became brighter and brighter as they reached the surface, meaning that they were ascending at a fast speed.
Diana gave a look at the ocean depths one more time before taking a deep breath as her head broke the surface of the blue ocean water for the very first time.
Now I've finally finished that I can now start stressing over what to wear at my school's mufti day tomorrow.
