One: His Stares

Elizabeth Roe was always different from her brother. She kept to herself, but she had friends. Brooke was one of them, but she never understood why. Then there was Nathan Scott. Her brother's half brother. Ever since she was adopted to Karen, Nathan always stared at her, even when she would go for a walk to clear her head. Lucas wanted her to stay away from him as he doesn't trust Nathan.

The night of the game, Elizabeth sat reading her book as she had nothing else to do. She saw the bus go by and saw Jason and another cheerleader making out while he drove. She saw Nathan looking out the window at her as they drove by causing her to wonder why he stares at her.

The next day, Elizabeth walked towards school as her brother was playing basketball. She had one of her naughty books in her hand as she made her way to school. "Man, why don't you let her date?"

"Because she is too innocent."

They nodded, but some wondered if they should tell him about Nathan staring at her every time she walks by. They knew the boy always liked the girl, but they kept their mouths shut. Lucas will see it soon.

At school in study hall, Nathan was talking to Jason as she walked by. He saw Liz or what he calls her in secret, his girl, but she will never know. "Man, just dump my sister already."

"Huh?"

"You and Peyton haven't really done much together and she complains about everything that you do. Plus, she's into Lucas." Nathan looked to see Peyton staring at Lucas causing him to see Elizabeth finding her a seat.

Lucas smiled as he pulled his sister down in the chair causing her to give him a look. "What?"

"Don't do that."

"Well, stop staring at the woman who only wants you for sex." She tells him. "I'm going to find Haley."

Lucas shook his head as he knew his sister didn't really like Peyton because of how the girl is. Elizabeth walked on by as Nathan watched her. She wasn't paying much attention as she had nothing to do with anyone at the moment. Peyton wondered why the siblings got upset. She stood up to follow her. "What are you doing?" Brooke asked.

"To see what is Liz's problem."

"Easy. You." Brooke tells her. "She doesn't like you and I don't think she ever will because of what ever happened. She won't tell me."

"You are her best friend..."

"I'm her friend. Her best friend is someone else."

Peyton maybe pushing it if she tries to speak to her. Sitting back down, Peyton went back to studying. Nathan looked back at Liz wanting to see what was wrong. "Scott?"

"You what?"

"Coach Whitey put me on the team."

Elizabeth fixed her glasses. "You're..."

"I know, but I don't know if I want to join."

Sighing, the girl smiled. "Think about it."

He nodded as she grabbed her book. Lucas shook his head as Nathan walked over to him to make a deal. Elizabeth found Haley and smiled.

Haley saw Elizabeth reading as Nathan arrived. Lucas looked at him as they were making a deal. Nathan looked at her. "Here's the deal. If I win, I get Peyton."

"If I win, I get your sister."

Lucas glared as that was not going to happen. He looked at his sister to see her reading causing him to do the one thing he never thought he would do. "Fine, but you better find another bet because Elizabeth is off limits."

"It's either I get her or there won't be no deal."

Lucas glared. "Fine, but I will warn you. Hurt my sister in any way, I will kill you."

Nathan watched Lucas walked back to playing basketball. He didn't have any kinds of intention to hurt the girl he wants. Elizabeth Roe was always the woman of his dreams and he will one day have her. Even if Lucas likes it or not. Elizabeth looked up from her book to see Nathan staring at her. Giving him a small wave, the girl fixed her glasses on her face before reading again.

Nathan smiled as he always excepted the beautiful girl. He remembered when she first had to get glasses. She was struggling and she refused to see an eye doctor till he told her that she will still be beautiful with her glasses and he was right. If only he had the guts to actually talk to her more. Maybe he could get her to tutor him.

"You did what!" She screamed out as Haley tried to hold her best friend back. "Why would you bet me? Your own sister!"

"Because Nathan betted me that if I win, I get Peyton and if he wins, I don't get on the team and you are his. I'm not too happy with it either."

Elizabeth screamed out as she walked away. She shouldn't be anyone's bet, but somehow she was. Nathan may be hot, but he still can be an asshole. "They are brothers." She mumbled as she went to the pier to read her book. Her mind was made up, she was not going to the game and she was going to prove that she isn't anyone's damn property.
