A few days later as you leave Aizawa's house on your way to work, lost in thoughts, you hear a loud shattering noise startles you. Turning to look across the street, your heart sinks as you spot the villain Tempus Rex breaking into the museum. You know all too well the dangers he poses with his quirk of Temporal Dominion, granting him complete control over time.

In a matter of seconds, you're in pursuit, following him into the museum. You arrive just in time as you witness Rex reach the heart of the museum, and there it is, the Chrono Prism. The artifact is a radiant crystalline prism, emitting a pulsating aura of swirling energy. Its bright colors dance around it like an ethereal kaleidoscope, and you can feel its power from where you stand across the room.

Desperately, you use your own time manipulation quirk to try and slow down time for Rex, but to your dismay, he's too fast, quickly snatching the Prism. And as soon as he touches it, a powerful time distortion surrounds him, making it seem as though he's in another realm of existence.

As Rex holds the Chrono Prism, he breaks into laughter, the echoes of his maniacal amusement booming through the museum. "Finally, with the Chrono Prism in my grasp, I can strengthen my control over time!" he boasts, his eyes gleaming from his newfound power. With this artifact, he can become virtually unstoppable, manipulating time and reality to fulfill his dark desires.

You and Tempus Rex have a long history. Years ago, he was a hero just like you, and the two of you got along from your similar quirks. But now, with his goal still in place- to establish a new world where he reigns as master of time, reshaping history according to his vision, erasing those who oppose him, and bending reality to his will- your friendship is no longer.

You then launch yourself at him, attempting to stop his plans, but the moment you get close, the Prism repels you, throwing you back. Rex approaches, a sinister smirk on his face, relishing the moment of triumph.

"I always loved our little battles, Y/N, but it seems I've finally won the war," he taunts, standing over you.

You muster all your strength to stand, refusing to be defeated. Just as you're about to retaliate with a punch, he stops your body from moving, holding you in place with his quirk- Temporal Dominion. His cold gaze meets yours, and chillingly, he remarks, "I've always found it fascinating that we have similar quirks. Perhaps in a different world, we could be together."

As he holds you in place with his quirk, a sudden movement catches your attention from down the hall in front of you. A scarf flies through the air with incredible precision, quickly wrapping around Rex, and disrupting his control over the Prism.

"Go to hell," you scoff at him as you finally get your breath back. But just then, the Prism slips from his grasp, falling to the ground, and the earth beneath you rumbles.

Closing your eyes, you brace yourself for the catastrophic consequences of the fallen Prism, expecting the world to be completely altered. However, when you open your eyes, everything is still the same.

Confused, you glance to the side and realize that part of the scar had prevented the Prism from falling and preventing the catastrophic damage that would have occurred.

Looking toward the start of the thrown scarf, you find Aizawa standing nearby. Relief washes over you as you finally relax.

"Are you alright?" he asks you.

"I had it under control," you tell him as you stand back up on your feet.

Aizawa smiles lazily. "I know, but I figured I'd still help anyway." He then brings Tempus Rex out and hands him and the Chrono Prism over to the waiting police.

As you step outside, you're greeted by a swarm of paparazzi, eager to capture the moment your partner saved your life. One of them shoves a microphone right toward you and asks, "How does it feel to be saved by your fiancé?!"

With a polite smile, you quickly correct them. "He was helping me, as Pro Heroes often do, not saving me. I know how to handle myself."

Aizawa then casually wraps his arm around you, looking half-asleep as he replies, "We always help each other, right? It's just what couples do. Besides, I can't let her be swept off her feet by some villain who's got a similar quirk to hers."

Instinctfully, you shoot him an annoyed look, but all he does in response is look back at you rather indifferently. He then sighs, saying, "We should get you looked at. You're covered in bruises. And who knows what kind of radiation you were exposed to in there. Come on. Let's go."

With that, he places his hand in yours and you walk away, the paparazzi capturing every moment. Amid the flashes of cameras, you find a bit of comfort in knowing that he was there to get you out of a bad predicament.

"Why do you bother putting on such a good show for them even when you don't have to?" you whisper quietly to him as you both walk away.

"You mean besides the fact that we don't have a choice?" he sighs, looking straight ahead.

"Well, yes. You just seem so indifferent about it, like it doesn't even bother you that we have to do this," you then shrug. "So you must have something to gain from it, right?"

"To be honest, there is an advantage," he nods. "Our names connected to one another will increase both our standings in the eyes of the public, and we will both make progress in the hero field. The more people who know your name, the more likely you'll be given the opportunity to help more people. Don't act like you don't know fame is a form of power among heroes."

"Well that's stupid," you scoff. "But I guess you're right."

"I agree, but as unfortunate as it is, the world of heroes is as flawed as any other system created by humans. Fame is what garners attention, and that attention is what drives a hero's worth in the eyes of the public. But what the hell does it really all matter?"

"So then you don't care about the fame?" you question him.

"The only positive is that with the fame comes the ability to help more people in need. That's something more important than any prestige, don't you think?" he hums, looking over at you to see your reaction.

"Yeah, you've got a point there," you then nod.

"How exactly do you feel about the engagement?" Aizawa asks as the two of you turn a corner, nearing his house.

"I mean it's really inconvenient... I'm forced to live in your house and you sleep on the couch..." you awkwardly say, not wanting to be disrespectful in any way.

"Y/N, I told you that I have no problem sleeping on the couch. My place is really only for resting anyway," he then explains. "And to me, this engagement, while it is inconvenient, is a means to an end that I hope will help more people in need."

When the two of you reach Aizawa's house and he reaches for his keys, you suddenly become aware that you've been holding his hand throughout the entire walk, even after the paparazzi have been long gone. Heat rushes to your face, and you quickly let go, taking a small step back, giving him the space to unlock the door and enter first.

Aizawa glances back at you with his usual stoic expression, seemingly unfazed by the momentary hand-holding, and unlocks the door. He holds it open for you, gesturing for you to go inside. You thank him with a nod and walk past him into the familiar surroundings of his home.

When he turns back, you let out a deep breath you hadn't noticed you were holding in. How long is this arrangement going to last? You might end up crumbling before then- especially if he saves you again.
